  1. I assume it's a Ryan Giggs/Ryan Wilson situation.
  2. What Ackey and StipeTripe said, absolutely spot on.
  3. Dorman is being linked with a £700,000 move to Rangers - and has been watched by Walter Smith - so I think he's a little out of our league. Cregg's been angling for a move to Celtic, although their fans think he's not quite the finished article yet.
  4. Wouldn't mind him staying as a coach, but we can't be paying over the odds for an injury-prone player who turns 40 in June. That's not a slight on his professionalism, but a reflection of our circumstances.
  5. I doubt Joe could generate more than nominal fees from our current squad (Taylor and Eardley excepting).
  6. Fujiya & Miyagi for me. Occasionally pale Can-imitators, but great at their best.
  7. Haha. Newcastle's board just doesn't have a clue. They veer aimlessly between random populist choices (Keegan, Shearer), flailing desperately when probably half-decent managers aren't immediately successful (Allardyce) and just bizarre (Kinnear).
  8. I agree with Gentleman and Opinions4U. It's not the source of players we should be focusing on, it's the quality and balance. Non-league is just one place to look, and I don't believe that quality is guaranteed - or cheap - to the degree that others might. For every Boyd or Beckford is a Corry, Roberts or Whitehall. (Or did he just come up a division? My memory's hazy.)
  9. Blaming Alan Hardy for hiring decisions is like blaming a civil servant for government policy. It might feel satisfying to vent, but it's ultimately pointless. Hardy implements the decisions the owners make.
  10. It will definitely. Along with cut & paste options (finally). I stick to TwitterFon for the iPhone. Seems to work fine for me (although don't seem to be able to start/stop following people using it).
  11. Good news. The one Ipswich fan I know thinks he's a good player and should do well for us.
  12. I'd have Haining back. Sure, he suffered a dip in form, but which of our squad hasn't? Was a decent, unspectacular, loyal pro - not injury-prone, not involved any booze-related aggro, not given to random spectacular cock-ups on the pitch (as far as I can remember!).
  13. Yes, I think HDGS' post of 2.36pm sums up my feelings perfectly. The right decision, but one I don't take any pleasure in witnessing.
  14. That'll entertain my company's IT security guys then!
  15. I thought it sounded a bit fishy, but it turns out it's not a hoax and worth reading. Sneaky stuff.
  16. Yes, I just realised the irony of posting that on a web message board at 9am on a Saturday. Oh well!
  17. Some brilliant kits here. I'd love some of those '80s shirts, but the oldest kits I have are the blue Bovis one wardlelatic linked to, and a red collar-less sponsor-free away shirt from around the same time.
  18. I was rubbish at Kick Off. Absolutely dire. What I'm really waiting for is a footy management game for the iPhone. That would just end my social life.
  19. Sticking off topic (since it's 1.30am, who cares): iPhone: awesome. Bought one last weekend (been thinking about it for ages) and I'm a sucker for cool-looking gadgets. Lots of very handy apps out there too. SWoS: also awesome. But I bought the Xbox Live Arcade update and I'm absolutely rubbish at it. Just can't win at all. I reckon it's because I'm not playing on an Amiga with a Zipstick Super Pro. Yeah, that must be it.
  20. Hang on, how can he sign for them? I thought players could only represent two clubs in one season, and that's his fourth. Or does that not apply to loans?
  21. Colm Meaney looks like he was born to play Don Revie.
  22. I heard the Taylor/Kilkenny swap rumour too, but nothing about cash or other players.
  23. (6) I fit that bill, and have never felt discriminated against. Not sure what exactly it is I'm supposedly unable to do.
