  1. It takes more than that with Latics fans! When's Scholes coming out of retirement to sign?
  2. Probably far fewer, but no transfer window back then. And I'd guess less transfer activity overall pre-Bosman.
  3. Current list: 1. Jack Ruddy (six month loan from Wolves) 12. Ben Wilson (six month loan from Cardiff) 19. Johny Placide (2019) 39. Joe Boyling (youth) 2. Cameron Dummigan (2018 plus option) 4. Brian Wilson (2018) 5. Anthony Gerrard (2019) 15. George Edmundson (2019 plus option) 17. Kallum Mantack (option taken to 2018) 20. Jamie Stott (option taken to 2018) 23. Rob Hunt (2020) 26. Peter Clarke (2019) 33. Jay Sheridan (youth) 34. Tom Hamer (youth) 6. Dan Gardner (2019) 7. Ryan Flynn (2018) 8. Ollie Banks (2018) 11. Ryan McLaughlin (option taken to 2018) 14. 4. Neither Ripley nor Stryjek on the bench for their clubs today.
  5. Either there's one more to be announced before the game, or we can take Shez's statements with a pinch of salt in future.
  6. First post in the thread updated to include the inspirational (yay) signing of Ben Wilson.
  7. g) We print out every tweet, every Facebook post, every message board post, every blog article, every local news story about Connor Ripley this summer. We shred them all into strips, add water and glue, and make a nine-foot tall gold-painted papier mâché colossus to be wheeled into goal on Saturday like a Trojan goalkeeper. Score ten as our awestruck opponents prostrate themselves at the mighty feet of papier mâché Connor Ripley. Playoffs nailed on.
  8. Hang on, if Uche is wearing 18 what happened to Osei? Or are these not squad numbers?
  9. This has given me a Pearl Jam earworm. "Kyeremeh spoke in class today..."
  10. I imagine our first choice keeper will be a last minute decision because Shez's targets are all in demand and their clubs can afford to pick and choose the best (not necessarily highest) bid. I think Bolten will take the backup shirt but either Sheridan wants to see how good his number one is before confirming or the club want to announce the number one first to head off any grumbles.
  11. Saw that he turned out for Telford as a trialist. What's the story? Is he going on loan or permanently?
  12. "Text STOP to 68855 to stop receiving updates every time someone mentions Connor Ripley."
  13. Official, verified twitter accounts have a blue tick after their name (like the official Latics account). Mind you, not sure you could ever be an "official" or verified rumours account, by definition.
  14. That account has a grand total of 15 tweets, only 2 of which were posted this year, and 15 followers. So far from being a reputable source of news that it's not even worth thinking about.
  15. Maybe he's homesick. A good season up there will put him on the radar well enough.
  16. Agree with both of these. Would like to see Duffus start with Holloway, and maybe Osei shipped out (at least on loan). But equally the money needs to be spent in goal and midfield first.
  17. Thanks BP1960, I've now got that Manfred Mann song stuck in my head.
  18. I've had the closing refrain from this playing in my head all day (the last 2/3 minutes). What an absolute tune.
  19. Would that make it a bridging loan? Sorry.
  20. The President of the Philippines? Do we have to stand for the anthem if he scores?
  21. The same one. Niklas Bolten. Based on Sheridan's comments to the press today he's got him lined up as our backup keeper.
