  1. Dickinson could be class if PD was able to keep on the straight and narrow also the thought of him and Smith pairing up together would scare some teams but would perhaps lead to long ball from defence.
  2. Thinking about it with a mixture of rose tinted glasses and hope but a loan deal may benefit him. Norwich are logically on their way down and he may well fancy one last chance to prove himself.
  3. Without doubt we could not afford that we could barly afford 10% of that. If McDonald coming here then there is a catch eg. loan
  4. I'd have in the space between midfield and the lone striker feed off any knock-downs from goalkicks or long balls from the defence, he is a clever player who given a run in the team would easily adapt to the role creating chances, as that is what he has done in every team he has played for
  5. Feeney also needs time to gel back in the side, we played with a 4-4-1-1 most of the season and Feeney could easily slot into that system
  6. If the shop opened longer at weekends it would cost more in wages and the club would need to be certain they would make that money up.
  7. Tonks should have been dropped earlier on the season he was tired and seemed to have lost confidence that he would score, Feeney is a better striker IMO. I hope Tonks doesn't come back because he just isn't good enough, besides if we sign Donaldson or whoever it is we are after I think our strikeforce will be complete. In regards to our loan players from last season, I'd like to Lowe and M'Voto (obviously) come back, the other players we had here on loan just not good enough yet.
  8. It could work but it would take a lot of man hours to find a way, i wouldn't like the idea of this because it would feel more part-time and give even more of a distance between us and the top dogs. One negative side not mentioned is the effect on promoted teams once out of the divsion, clubs would go from never having to play outside a 50 mile radius to suddenly playing all over the country. This I would imgine would mean promotion would in fact be more hurtful economically then staying down. If it were to come up it have to be three relegated sidea from Championship replaced by winner of North and South, with the other promotion being determined by a play-off system similar to the one in place now. 2-5 play each other over two legs then a regional final at a neutral ground. The winners of that would play in a final at Wembley thereby keeping the showpiece Football League event. The relegated Champtionship sides would need to be placed where there is space, as they are in a postion to deal with it best fincailly
  9. That's what she said Sorry tried to resist. If these or any new owners show interest in us in the current state we are in I would be worried about thier intentions until we have a stadium plan approved we aren't a fincailly viable option surley?
  10. I don't know anything about these guys, so out of interest, why would you not want them at Tranmere?
  11. Not sure if it related in anyway but Evina has made his Twitter account private, it could just be a way of preventing the Oldham fans that follow making comments to him.
  12. On the Crewe forum they seem to think Donaldson has got an offer from Bristol City and Norwich seem convinced he won't be going here so if we go off them we are going to miss out on both. Although if you belive the transfer rumour site then we are going to sign him but then again that is the most unrealible site I've ever seen.
  13. Is he out of contract? If not can't see us spending money on him or anyone else for that matter
  14. We did that a few years ago under Shez and it hurt us as the players not in the team didn't get any match action. I would also rather be in League 2 with a good youth team coming through than in the Championship with no youth team and depending on the transfer windows to build a team.
  15. Donaldson ia much more likely than McDonald as there isn't as much interest and Donaldson was someone who I wanted Oldham to sign as soon as I realised that his contracts was up at the end of the season
  16. I put this rumour on the transfer forum site weeks ago saying he was about to sign, it was 100% made up as far as I'm concerned, I also wrote one about the deal stalling because the hotel Oldham use for their new players would not allow his dog to stay. We acctully be after him, in which case I will claim I knew all about it. Bearing in mind, however, he refused to take a pay-cut at Portsmouth so doesn't look good for us.
  17. Alibamba did didn't he? and Feeney lost his ability in it
  18. It maybe a bit impatient but I would imgine that if he doesn't sign today it will not happen at all
  19. Just read that article if true I wouldn't fancy our chances. At the bottom of the article it gives a round up of what happened so far and says Dickov is waiting on 3 players Evina, Hazell and Morais. I'm sure that Black is out of contract anything happen with him? or was it just a typo? http://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-features/10/oldham-athletic-news/57149/terriers-threat-to-mvoto-deal
  20. It is unlikely to happen today given the time and with being a Friday there is not going to be any news until Monday I'd imgine. 3 days seems at the earliest seems to be a long time to end with line it could happen sooner than you think.
  21. So either we totally off base with this one or the site have site themselves up for a fall when we don't get him
  22. the talk is that it's a 'bigger' job he is goin for. Not Rochdale surley?
  23. Ritchie was offered the job before Hill but wanted too much money so unlikely to be offered it again, has Beech not joined Hill at Barnsley?
