  1. He'd been feeding off scraps and probably thought he deserved a spell up front with Smith. That was my thoughts at the time, I'd have staggered the substitutions and given Barnard another 10 or 15 instead of Millar. Luckily I'm not the manager
  2. That's why I didn't get Lance Cronin - had this Lance's face in mind
  3. Bloody hell, I was flying until the last one - who's that?
  4. Had to be Korey Smith for me, set the pace and kept up the momentum
  5. That's true but I can't help thinking he normally would have let it go for a throw, he worked to keep it in and then delivered a gem
  6. I think he was pretty good last night but we did play a few too many backpasses, particularly in the second half. I think we got a little narrow and became congested in the middle and were smothering ourselves, then when it broke down or we went back to our defence we didn't have many options, particularly from full back positions. One of LJs comments was about creating opportunities from mismatches and I think the wide players did this well, particularly Simpson's diagonal runs into the middle, but at times this also left our full backs exposed. That said, Jonathan Grounds wasn't troubled by this which highlights the difference in quality of the full backs, but I was a lot happier with Brown's performance last night. A great performance though, if not a little surreal - enjoyable and comfortable
  7. Sorry Prozac I'd missed a page when I wrote that, thanks for that in depth summary
  8. Thanks Sly and for all those that attended, been interesting to get some direct answers to relevant questions. The answers sound promising, looking forward to tomorrow night
  9. Yep, you can't complain about his performance today. Unless you've decided before kick off
  10. That's sad to hear, although I can understand the reason, always enjoyed the scouting style reviews. And will never know who the recommendation to Latics was?
  11. A group of us from school used to watch Glossop NE in the early 90's, those were the days with Tricky Trevor Smallwood and Stevie Morgan. Never got to the Wembley game as I was working away
  12. That's horrible, but you aren't saying you have a soft spot for them are you? My first kit was Arsenal and so i supported them for a while in primary school. No real soft spot for them now but i'll support them in the North London derby and always hope Oldham will get drawn away there in the FA Cup
  13. This, almost exactly Bolton - my dad's team Hibs - used to live 2 mins from ground Eintracht Frankfurt - German exchange Newcastle - Uni friends
  14. Unless it was just reality being far different than what was promised at Hull? It may be the case that if he goes in with his eyes open them he'll be happy
  15. I think it'll be Shrewsbury not us, big game in a couple of weeks
  16. This for me, it just arrived from nowhere (crap December and a crap first half) and changed the mood of this season. I thought I was going to have a heart attack
  17. He warmed up with his head set on. I think at that point I was seriously concerned. Premier League referees refereeing a Premier League team against non-Premier League opposition has to be a conflict of interest doesn't it? Even if it's subconscious
  18. Amen. I grew up standing on the terraces but when people have no choice where to sit or to go in a standing area then you have to be prepared to give and take a bit. Unfortunately being obnoxious about refusing to sit down has become a real badge of honour.
