Lost or did what we need to and sold...
Not sure if we sold him, he just wouldn't sign the contract being offered.
I only saw him a couple of times but he was our best player on both occasions, very skilful and not afraid to get stuck in as well.

Is it a glass half full, or a glass half empty?
Half fuller than it was this time last season !

Perhaps that's the thing, when he is in a position on the pitch where he has to make a pass it's normally the way he is facing, higher up the pitch he just wellies it.
As long as he wellies it in the back of the net he'll do for me !
We've spent far too much time in our own half over the last couple of seasons so maybe we've now decided we've a better chance of winning if the ball's in the opposition half of the field.

According to Wikipedia he scored 1 goal in 104 appearances before joining us. It may perhaps be a case of us discovering that, as he's developed (age 26 now) he's actually become something rather different than what everyone had always assumed throughout his career. Maybe we bought an ugly duckling (yes, we've had a few of those) and will now be able to play him as a swan.
I maybe wrong on the re-inventing bit but he does seem more comfortable with the shackles off, probably because he's not a very technical type of player preferring to do things instinctively. His two finishes on Saturday were really good, I just wish more of his teammates hit the ball first time when in the box.

There's been three matches where Sheron played in that role further forward to remarkable success and that's Alty in the cup, Rochdale and Solhull on Saturday. He just seems far more natural and comfortable, plus helps us press hard when he has the security of cover behind him. He just isn't made for the deep lying position and it's a credit to him for keeping going when he was clearly a round peg rammed in a square hole for such a long time. Also having robust players like Sutton and Kitching out wide in midfield, as opposed to Green and Dickenson who rarely tackle, helped us a lot in that respect too.
We've tried to re-invent Sheron as a deep lying midfielder instead of giving him his head and letting him charge forward causing mayhem and scoring goals, much like we did with Garrity the other season. This seems to have dawned on Mellon after ten or so matches so once we sign a "Matty Palmer type" on loan in January, and extend Stones to the end of season the play-offs will beckon.

Lundstrum was absolutely wank for most of the game.
Hardly broke a sweat for 60.mims.
Better for the last 3rd as SM tired but not the player we were led to believe in my view
But been injured so probably nursing his way back.
He's a neat midfielder who looks after the ball so we still need a ball player.

Surely there’s only Cookson that is “earning rave reviews “ in a “ higher league” than Micklover? And that’s a loose interpretation of “rave “ review.
Cookson impressed me in a 45 minute cameo pre-season, very vocal and mature.
Unfortunately he's another bloody centre half. Could be interesting at right back but not sure how good he is going forward.

It's actually down on https://www.worldstoughestrow.com/ as Alzheimer's Research UK if you're tracking him. He's going at 3.2 knots. He's running the risk of a drug test if he's not careful.
As opposed to a dope test for the previous regime?

Their Facebook fan page doesn't make out that he's very good or impressive, not one of them arsed that he wasn't offered a new deal and I can't find anyone saying they'd keep him when talking about their 'retained list' before it was announced.
Saying that, we all thought Ben Garrity was dog shit and he's done alright since moving on so let's hope Coote's their version of him!
Garrity at the double tonight !
We tried to make him a tiki-taka footballer when he was a box-to-box midfielder.

We don't know if he's mulling over loads of deals, and it's only four days.

And has been for nearly 6 months. Not in high demand.
Not according to Bohemians website.
Their manager stated he wanted to "move on" after three seasons on 8th December.

MM looks broken and at the end of his tether in that interview.
He shouldn't really look like he won the lottery should he ?
Disappointed yes but broken's stretching it quite a lot.

Now that's an interesting one. I used to dread hs co-commentaries and I still think he talks too much, but lately I've found myself agreeing with his points more often. Very worrying!
He's even doubting the "mighty" manu now !
