  1. Deffo there for that Bradford game at Odsal, at the time I had never seen us win away at Bradford but we won there fairly easily and I remember us doing the conga on the seats!
  2. I've got framed picture on wall of Redders striking the penalty. Got it from the Chron who amazingly were quite helpful.
  3. Yeh he was there saw him leaving few minutes before the end.
  4. Thought it was great that Richie turned out for Ernie when perhaps he shouldn't have. I for one would love to see him back but can't see it.
  5. Leezy if the acoustics are as good as they are supposed to be in the Rocky Road then we won't need any drum to make any decent noise. Will be 1st season I won't be going in the Chaddy End since starting watching Latics over 20 years ago. Good to see that all our group of singers are all moving to the Rocky.
  6. Ernie, i will never forget the 1st game I saw you in a Latics shirt at Rochdale. Fans who turned up were wondering who the guy from non league with the baldish head in the midfield was. By the end of the game everybody knew who you were and the chants of 'Ernie for England' were fantastic. You always gave 110% effort and commitment for the Latics and I thank you for that. Good luck in your fight I'm sure you will again rise to the challenge!
  7. Enjoy the gig tonight lads! Went to gig at The Academy last night and they were superb, my favourites were Dragging Me Down, Sackville and Butterfly! Good turn out to see the lads and they were having good crack with fans, good to see all the Inspirals families loving it on the balcony at the back. I remember think it was back in '99 playing Sunday League against Gilly he was playing for Mills Hill Villa 'B' and me for Bardsley Halfway House. Good Days........
  8. Anyone think that Shefki Kuqi could be what we looking for on loan, strong powerful striker who knows where the goal is. Just been transfer listed by Crystal Palace, I know he's probably be on a few quid but worth an enquiry?
  9. Thanks guys. Gonna email Soccer AM and ask if they will send the clip.
  10. Thanks Metty. I dont have a clue how you could do that, will have to hope a technical genius who can give us some help reads the posts on here.
  11. A true legend. R.I.P I remember it well when he presented Roger Palmer with a trophy for becoming the clubs record goalscorer.
  12. Really looking forward to Vale, most of lads are up for it should be good day out. Just hope we get better result than we normally get, been there numerous times but never seen us win there!! Anyone remember many years ago think still under 'Big Joe' we may have just been relegated from Prem, I think Billy Kenny was playing, Vale striker Lee Glover took a clear dive and the Oldham fans sang 'Are you Klinsmann in disguise?' and Glover got up laughing and clapped the Oldham fans it was a funny and good natured moment.
  13. You can't have everything, was just typical defensive header a good head on it and trying to get distance on it. Safe to say you can see why I haven't played at Sunday League level for year or two!!
  14. All the best Ernie. Always put in 110% effort on the pitch from the 1st game seen him in Latics shirt at 'Dale and for this he is will always get the utmost respect from me. Met Ernie, when my son was picking up a signed ball and having his picture taken with him and got to say a really nice bloke. Get well soon.
  15. Anyone see Soccer AM this morning? Decent coverage of Latics showed Macca's goal, Peltiers OG and a superb header from crowd from me !! Cheeky bugger Goldstein made some comment about my lack of hair!! Can anyone manage to get hold of clip and maybe post it on here for me? It's worth a beer for someone.
  16. Got to agree with Wardlelatic I think Enoch Showumni would be a great addition to our squad. Not too sure whether they would let him go as already let Brooker go out on loan.
  17. Reason not scored many goals is he is a defensive midfielder, not exactly what we need? Name:Cole Skuse Nationality:English Date of Birth:29/03/1986 Height:6' 1" (185cm) Weight:11st 5lbs (72.18kg) Position: Midfielder Cole made his senior debut as a substitute at Colchester on Saturday, February 19th 2005. The midfielder, who can also play at centre-half, is tipped for a bright future at the club. Signed his first professional contract, a two-year deal, in April 2005. Penned his signature on a new deal in January 2006, this time a four-year contract keeping him tied to the club until the summer of 2009.
  18. Shez needs to tell Davies he is a striker not a winger, as basically we are playing one up front at moment which in home games is not acceptable! OK Davies as a striker will sometimes drift wide but not stay permanently out wide and more or less become non existent. I thought this was down to Davies but on Boxing Day noticed it was Shezza who kept telling to go out wide whilst Davies seemed keen to play down the middle.
  19. Pathetic chant, Ricketts scored and did not celebrate the goal so what was the need for all the abuse when there was hardly any before the goal. Couldn't believe we allowed Ricketts to play, he is/was our player so we decide if he can play not the club who are to get him on loan. Ricketts has been hated by sections of our fans since day one, well before supposed incident with Taylor. Can't believe that he was subjected to the sick chant( I assume and hope it was tongue in cheek) and then the fellow Oldham supporters fighting each other about him. Football is all about opinions, a lot seemed to dislike him I just hope if he does sign permanently for Walsall then this frees up some wages for us to bring in another striker to give us another option. As for arguments between different stands who gives a toss, we are all there to support Oldham Athletic and irrospective of where we sit, we get behind them and have the crack!
  20. Well said Leezy! Ritchie82 'The morons at the front!", what fricking planet are you on? We are 100% behind our team and every player in it, we backed Ricketts 100% when god knows how many fans have slagged him since first game pre-season. If you study us as you obviously do, you will notice it was us who were rowing with the boo boys over the pathetic treatment of Crossley a couple of home games ago. To be honest it seems we have silenced them. Every one of the 'morons' is 100% behind the Boys in Blue! If you are implying we will shout abuse at opposition players, referees, etc and try to create an atmosphere yes we are more than guilty of that!! Ricketts will never wear an Oldham shirt again due to antics off the field and supposed lack off effort on it, so the boo boys have won that particular argument! It is an absolute certainty Ricketts will score on Saturday!
  21. Got to agree with most on this post, the drummer has to go! Slightly annoying last season when he was nowhere near me but now he has moved he is not helping the singing in that part of the Chaddy End one bit, cant hear owt with that bloody drum!!!
  22. Gotta say Tommy I would be well happy with Clarke whether signed or season long loan, then hopefully Kilkenny if Wellens goes and Williams at fullback and we are all laughing again!!!!
  23. No problem I'll be the one with very little hair at the front of the right side of the Chaddy with my son Luke, Leezyverpunk, Conrad, Jay, Daws, Hodgy, Squeaky and whoever else joins our merry gang of followers in the quest for promotion!!! There are a couple of picture of the gang in the gallery!!!
  24. I remember the Championship season well and him winning player of the year that season, I thought the Wednesday game was one of his worst games that season and then Shezza dumped him on his arse and rest as they say is history!!!!! Good hard working full back who battled for the cause as he was a local lad, I think he went to Hulme Grammar his younger brother Chris used to go to Hathershaw with a few of my mates!!!
