  1. It's a crap song anyway. Does my head in. Good riddance.
  2. All the family renewing. Never in doubt. Yes I swear and curse if we are doing crap, would I spend my Saturday any other way? No. I said it last year it's more than watching my team, it's the family time before, during and after the game. Plus making sure my son doesn't get turned to a glory hunting red or blue Manc is also high on the agenda! Plus Plus not a bad deal AL. League 1 or no, will still be there.
  3. With yesterday over with, I think RW has to have a massive rethink about staff, positions and tactics. I like Placide as at times he can turn it on and gives everyone a boost. But yesterday a ruddy scarecrow would have been more use. Completely off his line for the 1st when didn't really need to be. If he stays at home, his chances of saving that are increased dramatically. The second, was what we suspected could happen at some point. You can't do that against a player like Pittman, he's too savvy. I think Jonny needs to be rested and give Zeus a go. The midfield, Ryan Mac, not used correctly again. Byrne stuck out left, absolutely no point in playing him there, he needs to be central. Davies. He scores goals, but he's painful to watch some times. Looks so disinterested with his plodding around. Didn't find any useful positions. Doyle given no real chance to be Doyle today. The put the silencers on him for sure. The conditions, yes they were the worst conditions I can remember and visibility can't have been great, but you can't hold the conditions accountable for how lifeless we were yesterday. We need a kick up the arse now more than ever. And RW has to be doing that with immediate effect this week.
  4. Much much much needed away win. Was a bit nervous today as we hadn't played for a while that we'd struggle but far from it. Fair play to RW for getting the subs spot on. Great bit of Momentum behind us now. Things are looking better week by week.
  5. A win is a win and we won ugly today which we must do but what a terrible game of football. We could have spanked them today if we came out of first gear. We seemed really off, possibly strangled by the must win nature of the game perhaps. Linos flag happy, Davies was on side for about 3 if the offside calls. Could have won more convincingly if the pitch hadn't tackled AAH at the end. MK Dongs look completely bereft of life, a far cry from the side they have been, shows how quick it can go wrong in this division. Time to rest up players and get everyone fit and up for it, because today in periods, we looked neither of these.
  6. It's s tough one because I think the Duck will struggled at home the more the pitch cuts up as the season goes on as his game seems to be running with the ball. A style which our pitch at present won't be conducive to. The other factor is if Doyle comes back from his illness as near as damnit to how he was before. Thirdly, if we play Doyle and Nazon together, who holds the ball up? This tactic will be fine if we actually use the midfield to play them in, however a lot of our goals have come from long balls from our own half or from Jonny. I guess we won't know until we try it.
  7. Am I missing something here? We'd be 4 points at least worse off from memory with his late goals against Bury and Bradford. He could have scored on Saturday too, and that was a difficult chance with 2 defenders around him after being socked in the face earlier. I have to say, sometimes he does make some strange decisions positionally off the ball and his flick on to No one against Blackburn was baffling, however he still does graft. I couldn't care less if he doesn't celebrate, he still scores and assists goals and is still an asset to the squad. Jesus, why do we always need a scapegoat. Why not get behind the players we have? It really pissed me off.
  8. Lots of sleet and rain forecast and it's been consistently doing so for a few days. Pitch might look playable on the surface but will resemble a quagmire after it starts to cut up. I really hope It isn't postponed.
  9. We saw every different Oldham Athletic possible today; First 40 mins, a high energy, high pressing team. A team that could have been 2-0 or more against any team in the league. 45-55- decreasingly confident Latics getting forward with flurries of what we did in the first half without the same sting we had in the first half. 55-63- Nervy Latics, which gave birth to the rash challenge which lead to the free kick and goal. 63-82- Self destructive Latics. Another goal and panicky defending which gave way to the sending off by a silly challenge from Miombe. 82-98- Gritty and damn right luck riding Latics with a hint of confrence decision making. If all kept thier composure and Wellens had made a couple of subs earlier such as taking Miombe off before he could twat someone needlessly we could have seen that out I think. On a side note, the ref. What a prick. Not one booking for them even though some of their fouls were on a par with ours. Free kicks given against that couldn't feasibly have been our player doing the fouling e.g Dummigan towards the end, literally having his shirt removed yet goes the other way. A point that feels a little bit sickly to swallow but on to Tuesday.
  10. The fifth goal when he cuts inside is class. Looks good in the air too. Not that a video shows you all that much. See what the kid does in the blue of Oldham, he could be a peach, could be bench fodder. We won't know until we play him.
  11. Ok, but still a cult hero in his own right. Gave it everything, created rapport with the fans. (Yes I aknowledge it says greatest debuts, I'll go back into my darkened corner)
  12. George Elokobi. Don't actually remember what game, however it would have been a glorious day. Cult hero right there.
  13. I don't think getting rid of RW is going to achieve anything. We need stability which we haven't had for a very long time. As someone mentioned, the appoint, sack, repeat cycle is the real killer here. I acknowledge that Kelly wasn't good enough and Dunn was nowhere near ready but we seem as a club to be getting trigger happy. In RW we have a young manager with bags of experiences as a player at different clubs and some experience shadowing Shez as a coach for a good spell. He knows how this club works. We need to invest time in Richie as we did with Lee Johnson. All the foundations are there, we need to be patient. If we do sack him it brings us back to square one, who do we bring in/ who would want the job? I guarantee it will be another rookie and the cycle repeats. Let's stick with the one we already have, the one that actually knows what's going on.
  14. Good three points, a scrapping performance on a cut up and rutted pitch. Had flashes of the last few seasons under Shez. That is how we are going to win games, and it won't be pretty but I don't really care. Teams will hate coming to BP for that reason. Better performance by all collectively, not just 3 or 4 lads doing it. More of the same next week Mr RW.
  15. Whatever we do on Saturday, we must keep it simple. Get the basics right, like players holding position and not be pulled everywhere like last week were we had our biggest attacking threat, Byrne covering at right back as we saw before the second goal. Nazon looked like he was playing central midfield at times, too far away to have any impact in the final 3rd. We don't need to try silly 40 yard Hollywood passes, knock it wide and get the ball in the box to a blue shirt, not cross and hope. On paper we have a good side, we need to get out of the mind set that only Doyle can score goals, there is plenty of attacking potential, we have to figure out how to score with out Doyle for this month. The only way we can do that is make sure everyone sticks to position and task, through this, the goals will come.
  16. So much wrong with that performance today. Dummigan was dreadful first half, was massively out of position for both goals to the point that BYRNE was playing right back at one point just before the second. Nepochino must have boffed everyone's wife this week as everyone ignored him. The lad did well not to snap someone in half through frustration. Pringle looks sooooo slow, almost like a younger Paul Green. Don't yet see what the hype is about. No-one wanted to shoot. The new lad up front just ended up blending into our flat midfield and looked frustrated through out. We started with one up front at home AGAIN. I like Wellens, I think he had settled the team down at first and has made some good decisions transfer wise, however we can't keep losing like this. He is rapidly becoming like the others before him, the weight of expectation is becoming too much for him overcome. He needs time, but if we want to stay up in this league, I don't think it's time we can afford.
  17. Maybe that's were we've been going wrong all these years!
  18. Hadn't realised that. That then lots us further. Holloway used to be a CB. Could be another option if needs be?
  19. It will be very interesting to see our defensive line up on Saturday. We've got very little experience or quality there now if Gerrard is out. Wilson as steady but hasn't had the game time. Stott is still raw. Ryan Mc is only just back. Hunt is shaky, Bryan needs the experienced head. Edmondson out. Clarke to bury seems like a silly move now. Going to be a big week for us. 10 days left of a crucial window.
  20. Once again, a second half of the season where we need to do the improbable. The take over has to go through asap, we need a fresh few players that are decent league worthy players that actually have experience of our league or at a push topend league 2. We need to stop pissing about trying to unearth a 'gem' just for now and sign; 1) A horrible bastard of a centre half, it's worked before to sure up the defence in the past. 2) A proper left footed left back. Doesn't have to be flashy just have a left foot and a steady cross. 3) Doyle as a long term investment and a possibly a short term striker as cover in the mean time. Then do all the pissing about we want in summer. Survive now, ask questions later.
  21. Looks like a piece of work. Very lucky not to be sent off. Said some very unkind words to the Leicester coach before having the ball thrown in his face. Couple of lunges in too that could have been worse.
  22. I know this has been asked before but I can't find the post, what's the deadline for new players to be registered for for a Saturday game? Could we be playing Wellens mind games again in which all new players are named on the day?
