  1. Think the odds are always quite wide of the mark when released at this stage, be more reflective of actual chances come late July. My outside tip would be Gillingham though like deyres42, finished the season very well with a good young manager.
  2. I always presumed there was some kind of unwritten rule whereby we could only sign on 3 of the second year scholars on a full time professional contract? As in previous years we've always persisted with just the 3 players being kept on, hence we let a well regarded young keeper go in Paul Tyson.
  3. I'm pretty happy that for the first time in years I'll be able to recognize the majority of the team come the first friendly of the season..
  4. The Evans saga easily wins this one. If it wasn't bad enough the fact we were considering signing him in the first place, the way it was handled showed us up to be a complete joke. In all honesty I can't think of many lower lowlights than this over the last 10 years
  5. 3 things: 1. Rochdale away - just loved how rowdy we all were, then the result just topped it off, even if they say they don't care about us. 2. Fleetwood away - the fact we had fans on three sides of the ground, the two worldie strikes to lighten an average game and all the players celebrating with the fans. 3. The north stand construction thread...,lightened a many dull day seeing new improvements being made to what will be a brilliant new stand
  6. Don't think he's really caught this year? And I'd assume he's one of their highest paid players by quite a distance
  7. Gary Madine released by Sheffield Wednesday. Also, from their released list was Jacques Maghoma, I'd definitely take him if he's the same player from a few years ago with Burton.
  8. The socks clearly designed specifically to aid the traditional Bradford hoof/scoop up field..
  9. Is it just me or is this taking a ridiculous amount of time to find someone? New man needs to be in before the summer break surely to assess what is needed etv?
  10. It was a bit weird at Bradford when they started singing it, whilst we persisted to try and sing it a bit louder..
  11. Even if as seems likely all this source stuff is a load of bull...I'm still quite enjoying it! Redfearn over dowie though... Thought of very highly by many Leeds fans
  12. Would that possibly be Ritchie Jones that we used to have? A quick wikipedia check tells me he's now at FC Edmonton....done well for himself..
  13. Whatever manager we end up having is going to have a certain number of 'flaws', seen as though he's ended up managing our sack of :censored:e in League One..
  14. Should be noted his 3 wins were two 1-0 wins away at Port Vale and Crewe, where if I can remember rightly weren't the most compelling games or performances from ourselves.. And then the 3-0 drubbing of our neighbours. Arguably two spirited performances against Bristol City and Sheffield Utd at home which ended in draws.
  15. Not being funny, but I don't get the notion we should keep Holden as a coach? Granted he was a good pro and all that, served us well etc. But if the new man wants his own staff in, we shouldn't exactly be fighting to keep him involved! End of the day, if he was that good a coach, L** J****** would've took him to Baarnsley
  16. In all seriousness, I would bite their hands off if they were to offer Mvoto for Elokobi...
  17. As a fan who wasn't here in the glory days past, I was lucky enough to spend my childhood in the broadway upper, and all my childhood memories of latics are sat up there - whether it be watching the Cardiff fans after their seventh and final goal, or seeing craig rocastle knock in the fifth against forest. I like many was lost when they decided to knock down the broadway stand - just as many will be now moving from the chaddy! But you have to accept that things change, for the better or worse dependant on opinion. I've made new memories in the RRE that will last me a lifetime, both atnospheres against everton and liverpool will stay with me forever. Yes, you still look back and remember the good old days, but go make new memories in different seats, go branch out and you never know you might even make new memories....be grateful you remember the chaddy in it's prime!! Edit: I've still yet to experience a memorable game in the main stand...it's all torture and despair over there
  18. If we appointed someone with a 'big name' sure it might get an extra few 100 season tickets, but does it guarantee success? And isn't success what we all want? I might be the only person, but I see it the way that Corney is actually looking deeper beyond the candidates 'big name' and looking at their managerial credentials, personality, and how they will fit into the fabric of the club. Gattuso? is he really a manager? Rosler? doubtful he'd want to work on a shoestring, and be off if any bigger job offer came. Dowie? Best candidate in my eyes, but obviously not going to happen. Granted the three candidates named aren't exactly exciting names, but I don't understand the notion of 'not buying my season ticket next year if they're appointed'? At the end of the day, we support those boys wearing blue (sometimes with a hint of tangerine) no matter what so called manager is in charge..
  19. Leeds fans always said the same thing... 'He'll come good' Thought he played well today, granted he can't pass a football but worked hard for the team and was a decent out ball
  20. I think he's a decent manager for our level, however the way he always plays off the 'little old rochdale' line in nearly all his interviews would grate on me if he was to become our manager. YES just the same as Rochdale, we're not exactly the biggest fish in the pond that is League One, but I wouldn't want to be reminded of that every week.
  21. How we are going to aim for the automatic promotion spots in the Championship with our new Russian millionaire owner, with iain dowie at the helm and peter crouch up front..
  22. Surely Ryan Bertrand must walk into this team? The guy won the champions league
  23. So i'm bored writing my dissertation and thought it'd be a good idea to procrastinate and decide on my best eleven from when I started following us around 2000, hence I missed out on many of the good times. Its probably been done before but here's mine: GK: Les Pogliacomi RB: Kieran Lee (close call with Eardley) CB: Sean Gregan CB: Fitz Hall LB: Chris Armstrong RM: Chris Taylor CM: John Sheridan CM: Richie Wellens LM: David Eyres ST: Lee Hughes ST: Clyde Wijnhard Sure there's plenty I've missed out mind. Special mention to Danny Boshell and Jean Yves Mvoto
