  1. Up until a fine run and cross by Kitching just now, it’s been very grim to watch.
  2. I think Unsworth's league win % is actually 35.0%, which admittedly isn't great but is just better than Kewell and quite a bit better than Maamria. As I say, we need to look forward, not back.
  3. Kewell league win % 34.38, Maamria 28.57%. Move on.
  4. I agree @Sloshed Joe. It's a gamble not having a sub keeper, let's hope it doesn't backfire. Four outfield subs are more than enough, the game's getting as bad as rugby union with all these substitutions. The game is/was 11 v 11. The "Premier" League rule allowing 5 subs is a joke, benefiting only the moneybags teams at the top.
  5. Nice article. As Clarke says, some things are more important than football. Good to hear that his wife is better now.
  6. I appreciate you're making a serious point, and I don't blame you, but this did make me smile!
  7. This is a great example of how we can all see a game differently. To me, England were in control for most of the game and easily deserved to win by more than 1 goal. Australia scored a worldy and that gave them a lift, but we didn't wobble much and put the game to bed impressively. Hemp in particular looks a really good player but all the team played well and the defence was outstanding. It was a superb win, against a hostile crowd and a ref who was certainly influenced by the home crowd on more than one occasion. And I don't think Wiegman got the timing of her subs wrong at all.
  8. That’s very decent of you - I hope the owner sees it that way
  9. Great night for the let’s try to engage in futile point-scoring lads though.
  10. Absolutely spot on and fair comments you make there, L1F.
  11. He did tell TNS he’s here to stay, apparently.
  12. Yes but I doubt Nuttall was being hammered “for no reason”. The posts I’ve seen that criticised him were doing so because of his work rate, contributions etc. By contrast he’s been praised, by many of his critics, because yesterday he had a great game. What’s wrong with that? I’m not having a pop at you in isolation. It seems to me that, yes, Unsworth was hammered as you put it because of the team selection, formation, tactics and attitude v Southend (and in previous games). Then, yesterday, there was a complete change of style and bingo, we win 5-1 - and this time Unsworth and the team get rightly praised. What is wrong or inconsistent about that? Some people seem to want to score points and make out that slating the manager/team when they play badly while praising them when they play well is somehow hypocritical. It really isn’t.
  13. Ken Dodd was never my cup of tea, but a few years ago my wife twisted my arm and we went to see him on a Sunday night in Malvern. He started at 7.30pm and with one interval (20-30 mins?) finally walked off stage at 1.00am. No support act. Quite amazing staying power. It was a bit sad in a way, looked like he lived for the buzz of a live audience and didn't want the show to end. I must have nodded off a couple of times at least, but some of his routine was genuinely funny. The whole thing was a bit surreal, like I'd dreamt it all. I had to catch a 6am train to London on the Monday morning, having confidently expected he'd be finished by 10.30pm at the latest! Didn't realise he was famous for his shows going on and on.....
  14. Great point. Refreshingly different to some of the tourists who inhabit "Premier" League grounds.
  15. Decent attendance today, considering last week's shambles.
  16. Emmanuel Dieseruvwe puts Hartlepool 1-0 up v Gateshead.
  17. February 18th, v Maidstone. He's come on as a sub a few times since.
  18. According to Wikipedia his full name is Lee David Brent Johnson. If that isn't a wind up, then never was a guy so aptly named.
  19. Well could you start bigging up Mr Unsworth in that case?
