dean 1984
ive also heard we are trying to sign martin woods from donny the rumour is also on their message board, yeovil want him but he wants to stay up north
RoytonBlueLad
He had a great season with Rotherham before Donny got him and then it didn't seem to work out. Wouldn't mind us trying for him. Think he was the one who their chairman was predicting would add thousands to the season ticket sales last year

slystallone
>>Martin Woods<< This is indeed the man who the Donny chairman said would stick another 1000 on the gates as he was that good a player..........well........ In the Donny games last season, and in the Yeovil game at BP when he was on laon, he flattered to deceive, he looked like he had a decent touch, looked pacey (ish) BUT, he also looked a tart (white boots / bleached blonde hair / wrist sweat bands etc) and he went to ground far too easily. He's still young, i guess has the potential BUT i would wager they (Donny) would want a large fee for him if he were to leave, i'd guess we are talking a tad out of our budget, as i think hey'd want £300k + for him, and i think that kinda money is better spent elsewhere & on different players...... As usual we'll wait and see.....
Tasmanian_Devil
This guy and Lee Martin would be 2 impressive signings IMO. It would definitely feel like we were building a promotion chasing team if we managed to land them both and then get a specialist left back. I just hope both these rumours end up being truth and we get them both. So far I've been quietly impressed by the players we have already signed, feels like this could be one of our best seasons for years. For once, we seem to be learning from our mistakes of the past. RoytonBlueLad
Surely they woul demand Taylor for him They got him on a free last year, he seems to be available now. To demand Taylor would be a bit cheeky and get a from TTA as well.
jonnyl@tic
Cant find any mention of this on the Donny boards or Yeovil boards.. Looks like he hasn't got a future at Donny shipped out to Yeovil on loan last season cant see them wanting a fee maybe another 30k job. Would be a good signing. Would be a good signing. he would be a decent squad player, we need back up and reliable back up , players who can be brought into the team when needed and still do a good job. I would take him if he was leaving Donny on a free but i wouldnt pay anything for him over 50k.

Thing is he signed a four year deal last summer. Three years to go and seemed to get a huge signing on fee as well they reckon so they'd be looking to recoup some of that. Macca
Was in Rotherham the other day and they had an interview with him in the local rag before the play off final. He was part of the side at the start of the season that struggled early on and was quickly axed from the team, performances then improved and he's not really had a look in since. Looks likely to leave donny in the summer. He just doesn't seemed to have settled well there, was a good player at Rotherham, probably didn't help him being billed as a player who would put an extra thousand on the gates. DeeDahRover
Donny fan here. Always seems to me to have lots of ability but with Wellens and Stock being so good in midfield he hasn't had much of a chance. Not sure he really likes the 3 man midfield and the workrate that's needed in the role he gets asked to play. When he last started for us against Swansea we got smashed after he was brought in. All goals came down his side as he didn't track back and help Roberts out. Since that he hasn't had a look in. I like him and feel if he gets a run and works a bit harder he can do a job, sadly I think he'll go. Wouldn't be surprised to see him head to you in some kind of deal for Taylor, most likely a little bit of cash plus Woods in my view. Wouldn't be bad for us or you really as Woods has potential to be very good in my view.

Macca
Here he is: Not a bad strike that! Don't see many of them at latics unless it's the opposition. Whilst viewing that couldn't help but notice this beauty of a goal as well! Rob Scott

jonnyl@tic
he can stay were he is if it involves Taylor moving we need Taylor wide right next season and in our side.
slystallone
ha ha, Donovan Ricketts in goals, what a clown he was. My Gran's a better 'keeper than him!!!
flytrap
looks like a left footer, could be exactly what we need. as for taylor, over my dead body! he'll be the difference between playoffs and automatic if we can get him firing on all cylinders and running at the opposition. mattyg101
>>Martin Woods<< This site suggests he scored 6 goals in 1 appearance playing for Sunderland. Is that right?
DeeDahRover
is he an AM or LW, we could do with a good AM! judging by his goals him and allott would seem to be a good combo He can play left side and did for Rotherham. We've tended to play him on the left of the three in midfield. He just doesn't track back enough. For me you have to play him as an AM as he's not the best tracking back and he lacks the pace to beat a man to get a cross in. Think Beckham out wide, he's not a left winger at all and would be a left sided midfield player if anything. Definately a central player for me. Diego_Sideburns
Distinct lack of team mates joining in the celebrations on a few of those goals...is he a billy big boots? Rather than the size of his boots, I think that's because his team was so far behind at the time.
Bristolatic
If he can hit 'em like that, especially cutting in from the right to give it some welly with his left peg, he can wear pink boots and dye his hair purple for all I care. And if the ginger winger can do the same from t'other wing and just keep it down a bit, that'll do for me. Of course, they could swap sides now again to mix it up a bit.
