ford_standreject
Dean Windass has signed until the end of the season, he will make his debut tomorrow against Hartlepool. Just seen him leaving BP with who looked like John Hendrie who could be his agent. I have also heard that the Hughes to Doncaster deal is all but done and that Chris Taylor will be signing for Sheffield United for £650,000 before the end of the transfer window. Personally think Windass is a great signing! Ktf

ford_standreject
Sure I read somewhere you can sign players on loan up until three hours before kick off, so we may have done that. Only proof I have is what I have seen and what has been said. Edited January 9, 2009 by ford_standreject

LaticsLen
I was believing you until you said Taylor was signing for sheff united for £650,000 we've already rejected a £700,000 bid so why would we sell for £650,000.
opinions4u
Only proof I have is what I have seen what has been said. So you saw the signature go on to the contract? Or you saw a bloke who looked a bit like Windass leave after talking, possibly signing/possibly not signing any contract?

Guest sheridans_world
10 Things you need to know about Hull's Oldhams (?) Dean Windass Hull will play in the top-flight of English football next season for the first time in their 104 year history - and it was veteran striker Dean Windass who emerged as their Wembley hero. Sporting a peroxide blond barnet for the occasion, Windass thundered in a 20 yard volley to notch the only goal of the game and write himself even more permanently into footballing folklore. But just who is the man who sent Hull into the big time? 1. Windass was born on April Fool's Day 1969, making him 39. He hopes to play on beyond the age of 40 before moving into coaching. 2. Released by hometown club Hull as a youngster, Windass spent time packing peas for Bird's Eye and working on building sites before establishing himself as a pro. 3. He carried on playing for North Ferriby before Terry Dolan signed him for Hull, promising the non-league club a 10 per cent cut of any sell-on fee. North Ferriby built an indoor sports centre with their £65,000 cheque after Windass moved to Aberdeen. 4. Windass began seeing a sports therapist while at Aberdeen to deal with his rages - which would see him pummelling the walls with his fists when drunk - and night-time bed-wetting. 5. He was sent off three times in one game while playing for Aberdeen against Dundee. First he was shown a second yellow card, then he abused the referee, then he took out his fury on a corner flag. End result: a six game ban. He also received a five game ban for abusing a referee in a car park while with Bradford two years ago. He averaged nine bookings and one sending off a season before this year - when he notched up a positively angelic eight yellow cards. 6. Revealing all on his parents' divorce, the tough times at Aberdeen and all the other highs and lows along the road in his autobiography, Deano: From Gipsyville to the Premiership, upset some of his family so much they no longer speak. 7. Windass has been in the Premier League before - his 10 goals for Bradford in 1999-2000 helped keep the Bantams up. As well as his two stints with the Tigers, Windass has also worn the colours of Aberdeen, Oxford, Bradford (twice), Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United. 8. The striker received death threats after being sent off for Bradford in 2006 for a horror two-footed jump-challenge on Bournemouth's Neil Young. 9. A real hardman, Windass has more than a little of the Vinnie Jones about him with his boxer's face - and John Finnegan accused him of giving him the testicle-squeeze as Jones once demonstrated on Gazza. 10. The last time Windass had the opportunity to play in a play-off final, in 2003 against Wolves, Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock left him out of the squad. Windass spent the game drinking lager in his local instead. Hull fans will be forever grateful he was on the pitch on Saturday 24 May 2008.
