Douglas and Lucas leave Leeds

Rather surprised really as Douglas played a lot of games last season and was playing at the end :disappointed: Seems like his view of his worth didn't match Grayson's. Lucas has been around a while but if he couldn't keep Ankergren out of the team then......

Both might be worth a look from our point of view I suppose but it seems unlikely that is where we would want to spend the bulk (as it surely would be) of what cash we have.

Does it mean Leeds are getting serious or have they run out of dosh and are having to watch the purse strings like everyone else?

Give it a rest Dean it's becoming boring son, seriously how old are you? 'cos you're whining like a spoilt little kid, the season ended a mere 20 days ago, many irons are in the fire, and yer still spouting the same old bollocks about players we've not even signed yet. God help the poor buggers when they do actually sign. Good enough or not we'll cut our cloth accordingly and no amount of spitting yer dummy out will stop it.

FFS. :ranting::ranting::ranting:

If you want excitement and fun over your potential signings, Eastlands is the place to be. if you want steady Eddies with a sprinkling of experience and WOW then BP is the place. We're a mid-table 3 rd division side, get over it and no amount of "We used to be this or that and that gives us the God given right to throw :censored: loads of cash at over rated tosh." Been there done that, look where it got us? Oblivion almost between '01-'03 and mid-table under Ronnie Moore.

Forever!!!!!

Our time will come, but we need to get rid of the 'now, now, yesterday' culture amongst many of our younger fans. The success we achieved in the late 80s/early 90s had been built on the momentum of a settled manager and a team that evolved slowly from the back end of the 84/85 season - many of that team were sold on for decent money and replaced with our youngsters and youngsters/seasoned pros from bigger clubs and allowed to gel into a team that just clicked. It didn't happen overnight it took time and there were many dark days and crap finishes in the league. The difference then was the crowd in the main supportive of players and manager and when success did come we felt we were all in it together. When we were battling relegation on 92/93 it was us against the world and we came out on top. The moaning began to creep in the year after and has steadily got worse. It's time we regained our perspective and cheered the lads on no matter what, no matter who's in charge and no matter who wears the shirt.

Back on topic. Douglas is a steady eddie. You get what you get from him, no nonsense. Would be a good foil for a ball player in the middle of the park and can drop in to full back if required. Depends on the pound notes he's want.

That's the question probably end up at Hudds.

How much do you reckon he is tilling in?

not really sure but since he signed for them when they were in the championship i would expect him to be on championship wages. it sounds as thogh he doesn't want to take a pay cut so would be out of most teams reach in this division.

Only out of reach if a Championship club came in for him. If not then he'll have to be realistic.

true, but id be suprised if no one did, but you never know i suppose and if he's being too greedy then clubs will tell him where to go especially in the current climate.

Just try and ignore the moaning :censored: . So many at it already when the season hasnt even finished nevermind started. I am sure they do it because they get off on winding people up, who knows? But if they have such an outlook on things im surprised they managed to drag themselves out of bed in the morning

In this league you can never really tell how well a player will do for you until you see him play a few games anyway, quite a few players in our squad im still reserving judgement on from last year.

Back on topic, BBC said Douglas was being offered a contract, so if he was offered peanuts by Leeds and turned it down i doubt he will be signing for us.

The other differences were no transfer windows or Bosman rulings. It can't be done that way now.

A Leeds fan at work reckons they've got a £4k per week ceiling on player wages.

He could be right when you look at the profit they've just churned out.

Anyways, £4k, £3k, £2k. Too much for a player of his position at our place. Let's save those wages for the goal scorers / creators.

without doubt .the most sensible post of the year, prozac you have put into words, And put into perspective the objectivity of supporting Oldham Athletic.

We ain't got the bounceback ability of West bromitch albion. Nor do we have the cash influx of Wigan athletic..We aint got the fan base of Huddersfield or Leeds

nor have we the facilities of Norwich city so all in all what the fcuk have we got..

Loyalty......

keep the faith
