BeckfordsRightFoot Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 My next door neighbour went to pick up his season tickets yesterday and stuck his head inside the ground where that computer centre thing is near the driving school. They're rebuilding the dugouts across the pitch. Maybe because Penney wants to be at pitch level? Makes sense to me, easier to get instructions across. Quote
NIKI1234 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 (edited) Reduce the amount of "fan interaction"? More to do with this than Penny getting instructions across. He spends most time at pitch level anyway in the technical area so cant se it being that. Edited August 4, 2009 by NIKI1234 Quote
Lookers_Carl Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Reduce the amount of "fan interaction"? As in Fan: "Shez your :censored:" Shez: "Shut up you muppett" Quote
kellysheroes Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 interesting one this.... i really cant think why??? o yeah k*** head main stand moaners Quote
tangerinedreams Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Reduce the amount of "fan interaction"? That sounds quite plausible actually, I wish DP all the best but inevitably he will get some stick from the boo boys, I would like to hope not but you know what its like. Quote
Lookers_Carl Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 (edited) interesting one this.... i really cant think why??? o yeah k*** head main stand moaners First season in main stand upper this season, view is nice but every saturday will become a lesson in self restraint Edited August 4, 2009 by Lookers_Carl Quote
BigfinLatic Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 As in Fan: "Shez your :censored:" Shez: "Shut up you muppett" Its more than that though... you have 1500 voices or so coming from the main stand (Moaning/abusive or not!) ... moving over to the other side at least means the players know the only voices from that side will be from the management team... plus as has been said, fans are not "privileged" to hearing everyting that goes on between manager/player... Have to say though.. If I was DP, I'd do exactly the same thing... Quote
ste1987 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Provide the illusion we have a four sided ground? Quote
Hometownclub Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Probably to eradicate the amount of abuse coming from directly behind the dugout. Quote
Bertie_Dugger Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 No we're downsizing. It is a new main stand. Quote
mainstandmoaner Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 interesting one this.... i really cant think why??? o yeah k*** head main stand moaners no need for that we're all entitled to moan if we pay to watch them and they are playing s**t Quote
BeckfordsRightFoot Posted August 4, 2009 Author Posted August 4, 2009 Might be a shock to people considering my views on here, but if you people have been offensive enough to the club you loves management to cause them to in effect rebuild the stadium, you shuld be ashamed! lol Quote

Latics_Fanatic Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Can We Get A Picture On The OWTB Webcam ? Quote
Guest sheridans_world Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Maybe its so they can make them bigger to accomodate the seven subs we'll have this season? Five subs looked pretty cosy on those benches in the main stand so I cant imagine what seven subs would be like. There isnt any room to expand in the main stand so move them across the pitch. Makes sense, plenty of room over there. Quote

Makes sense, plenty of room over there. Probably hit the nail on the head, there. I mean, who's going to want to sit on Gregan's knee? Mind you, we could probably get one on each knee. Instruction-wise, it will be easier for Penney to be heard. I don't agree with the 'fan abuse' line of thinking. That's just bordering on lunacy and wouldn't justify the costs involved. Quote

I can see some of those who used to tut-tut about Shez's words from the technical area will be returning their STs and applying to be ball-boys on the Broadway side. Quote
underdog Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I remember when they were at pitch level and JR always use to come legging it down those stairs (two steps at at a time) to make the changes verbally - no internal phones then down to the pitch. Always remember one day JR having to pull Physio Ian Liversage (Tommy Ball look alike) back into the dug out after he was wound up once. Just remember this big hand getting hold of him by the scruff of the neck and yanking Liversidge back into the dugout... Aww,,,bless the days even when our physio went OTT at game. Well we will all see on Saturday won't we....ooooooooooooooooooo Quote
Diego_Sideburns Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Aww,,,bless the days even when our physio went OTT at game. Wasn't a bucket of water involved? Quote
Diego_Sideburns Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 When the dugouts were moved to the top of the steps, the home dugout was fitted with heated seats as a prototype design of a local company. Don't know whether they caught on elsewhere. There'll be no need for heated seats if we move to the Borough's lowland. Quote
ste1987 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Too subtle for this board....or are you suggesting we try this shape of ball? Check TV Listings. Thursday 6th August, Sky Sports 3, 7.30pm Quote

Ketsbaia Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Squeeze a few extra seats in Main Stand to cope with capacity issues, 16,000 and all that...obvious. Quote
