The guy in front of me is a Croatia fan. I'm contemplating kicking his chair. You have mentioned you are at Med school, but are you doing everything, or do you know what you are going to specialise in yet? Although non clinical, I work in a HCA hospital in London, do you know of HCA?

My family is pretty much all made of doctors of some sort so during family gatherings, everyone tries to convince me to go into their speciality. Ha! Dermatology is nice too -- you actually get to have a....what's that called?....oh, life. xx HCA are private hospitals, yeah?

HCAs are Health Care Assistants- they do a lot of the stuff nurses used to do back in the day (so probably still do a bit in the States). Dermatolgy does give you a life- but so does something like Rheumatology which has more prevalence to sports (which since you are/were a Lakers girl) might be more interesting

Hitting the trigeminal nerve would be even worse . Trigeminal Neuralgia is definitely not fun.

BigfinLatic
If I was a Rheumatologist, could I work with the Latics? Haha... Bloody hell... we have enough injuries as it is... we dont need the added problem of players faking injuries just to see the pretty american doctor lady... rudemedic
If I was a Rheumatologist, could I work with the Latics? Haha... Sort of it will be who we sent our players with osteitis pubis to- but if you want to work with the Latics you would probably have to be a GP (a family practioner in the States) but you'd have at least one person competiting with you. GPs in this country have a life too- whether the equivalent do in the states is not something I'm aware off.

They own around 200 Hospitals in America and 6 in London. Probably the most famous is The Portland, but I work in Harley Street. WE specialise in Cancer, Cardiac and Paediatric CAncer and Cardiac. But I am not a health care assistant!

This could be a good debate! I think in an ideal world they would not, but I am sure we have got a better set up than the US. In our case, we do charity work too, for example we have a yound Russian boy we are treating for cancer at the moment. Our Hospital is now now operating the private wings of some hospitals, mainly in Oncology-eg we are doing at UCH, and just recent Romford, and are going for one in the North West. The fees and rent we pay is helping the NHS budgets, though, of couse, some things the NHS does best. The patients certainly want it, but not the same food etc!
