laticsrblue
If Micah is sold and we get around £2M, what should be our 4 season plan for the money? Should we use it the Tory way,the Labour way or the Liberal way. Tory: Starting immediately and over the next 4 seasons use it pay off all debts and cut present spending on playing staff. Labour: This pre-season invest it in better players so that we increase income from season tickets and due to better results increase income throughout the season from bigger and bigger crowds Then use the increasing year on year income to pay off the debts over the following 3 seasons, after which we will have a debt free Championship club. Liberal: Give £700 to every supporter and get a committee together made up of the leading league one club chairmen and together decide the best way to spend the rest of the money. opinions4u
It was almost amusing, but not quite. On a serious note, there is this slightly more realistic option: Labour: Put prices up for supporters and invest it in better bars, bookmakers, catering, medical facilities and seats in and around the stadium. Buy in big wage players who have previously shown ability elsewhere and describe it as investing in the future. Win the Paint Pot Cup with a Wembley final for all to enjoy. Then realise that you can't afford anything and bail out before the next owner has to put the club in to administration. Increase tax. "Invest" it in services. Bring in doctors and nurses from overseas due to a lack of British training places. Get the Olympics to Britain. Then do a Portsmouth. My arse! b]Labour:[/b] Do an assessment of all the staff, call it something like of the top of my head Ahenda for change. Don;t bother lloking at the performance and gve the positions a 50% pay rise. And keep all the rubish staff everyone has wanted to get rid of. Then get lots of people like 5 a day managers to look after the diet of the players, And outsourse the catering etc. THen employ 4 people whose sole job is to try and find a slight problem and get somemoney of the contract. Caterers and players And wonder why the catering staff are demotivated. And the pHlayers are not playing well. So now yu need money, but the banks cannot afford to lend you any. And in the next 13 years you double the amount you spend from 250 Billlion to 450 Billion Having not save a single penny when you had the money. real
Tory - Close the club, keep the money, sell the land, keep that money too. DC says "We simply cannot go on paying for unprofitable enterprises, regardless of the benefits they may bring". ref - 1979-1997, repeated cuts/closures. Inheritance tax cuts for the rich. Labour - Maintain existing funding whilst looking for greater efficiency from existing spending, despite the growing debt burden that may affect future viability. GB says "A cut in spending now may lead to a serious decline in the enterpriise". ref - 1997-2010, spend in the good times, spend in the bad times. Lib-Dem - Reduce prices to attract support from the lower paid whilst looking for areas to cut un-neccesary spending. NC says "We need to address the defecit, but we also need to help the lowest paid". ref - £10k tax allowance; Tax on £1m+ homes.
HarryBosch
Lib Dem - An amnesty whereby we CAN now sign any player whose work permit was turned down in the past. They can also bring a mate with them. Win bonuses capped at £5.

BP1960
Who is he linked with in this weeks papers? In advanced talks with Spurs according to todays Sunday People - fee around £10m. If the club do get £2m it would be a golden opportunity to increase season tickets sales with the promise of hope by buying at least 3 good players.
