Latics players who gave their all for the shirt ?

Recommended Posts

To be fair Joe colbeck had not talent what so ever but he gave 100% when he played

agreed, but like I've said before a lack of skill is easily translated to some as "not trying"

to me I don't think any player could compare to Earnie Cooksey, I've never known a player who has covered a lack of skill up so well with such enthusiasm and I don't think we'll see another player like that in our lifetime RIP

I should also have mentioned Bob Ledger.

He played in every position for Latics including keeper when he had to take over betwen the sticks in pre-substitute days.

Bob Ledger, I have never seen anyone before or since who from the full back position could hit a ball so high it came down with snow on it and caused consternation in opposition defences.

A simple tactic I'm surprised no team seems to use nowadays, then again I suppose it's not in the coaching manual many clubs seem follow rigidly.

Indeed I have, but I think you will agree Bob Ledger was more cultured in his application and was a definite tactic devised by himself. :)
