oafcprozac
Kevin only played for us briefly between February and May 1987 joining us for £100,000 from Grimsby Town, a club he served for over ten years. Kevin wanted First Division football but Big Joe's persuasive powers and Norman Holden's money, persuaded Kevin that we were going up anyway. Just in case a clause was inserted that anyone who bid £100k from the First Division would secure Kevin's services should we fail to go up. Sadly, Leeds mugged us and the rest is history. Thanks to a bit of persuasion Chris Nicholl of Southampton paid 25% more than we did for Moore and he left to join the South Coast club in the Summer of 1987, serving Southampton with distinction for a good few years, before winding down his career in the lower divisions. I was only 10 when Moore captained the club, but I remember a guy who was a tall, dominant centre-half who could play a bit and represented the club well. 55 is no age, and to succumb to such a rare form of dementia is heartbreaking. RIP Kev, another ex-Latic taken far too soon…... http://www.thisisgri...l#axzz2Rt42Zy00 http://www.dailyecho...re_passes_away/ Edited April 29, 2013 by oafcprozac

Alec1954
I always thought that when he joined he was the catalyst for what followed. Genuinely upset at this news.

Stagger Lee
Very sad - awesome player - if only we could attract players of his talent now and what a terrible way to go, my sympathy to his loved ones.
Witty
Brings back some great memories seeing that picture of Kevin on the official site. Great player. RIP Kevin.
stargazer
He would have been our captain in the top flight ,had we not lost on away goals to Leeds ,it would have been a penalty shoot out nowadays. I have no doubt he would have been a terrific player for the club for years to follow. An athlete diagnosed with a form of Dementia at age 50 seems particulary hard to imagine , his suffering is over. RIP Kevin.
disjointed
Kevin was a classy centre half, I was gutted when he left but I suppose that was part of the deal. Deepest sympathy to his family and friends. RIP.

Strong, mobile, good in the air and ground, and a real leader. Saw him and a few of the others at Manchester Picc (think we were going to Palace) - very cool and in command, even in the cafe with a cup of tea. RIP - terrible waste.
