Dickov + TP + LJ used 35 players last season. At present LJ has 21 players and counting....

FTFY By my maths Dickov didn't use that many due to players being added after he left and youngsters used late on.

I think PD used 30 players but I'm unsure if he ever used some of our youngsters.

Wouldn't size of squads on day one of season be a better comparison as opposed to number of players brought in during the season?

Yes which means to my reckoning using only full season loans he has a bigger squad?

In Dayton Rooney Latvian MacDonald Schmeltz Rodgers Oxley Harris Clarke K smith (9)

Out Bouzanis Cisak Mvoto Simpson Croft Furman M Smith (7) Taylor ( arguably) (8)

What about Liam JAcob, that's 9 out for starters

Do you mean squad, or first team?

Could someone list the 25 including their positions?

Can't find on any of threads including the squad movement one (apologies if I've missed) and official site is still incomplete.

Cheers

In the Manchester Evening News LJ says that he has a smaller squad ( ie fewer players) than Dickov's last year. Has he?

Cisak

Byrne

Grounds

Tarkowski

M'Voto

M'Changama

Wesolowski

Furman

Croft

Simpson

Slew

was the starting line up against Wednesday last season.

Montano came in for Wesolowski against MK Dons - we didn't even have another central midfielder to replace him.

Brown, Smith, Bouzanis, Winchester, Millar, Hughes and Taylor were the subs.

Stronger starting line up and a stronger bench now in my opinion.

That seems to indicate then that LJ has a squad which about 20% bigger than the one available to Dickov at the same time last year

No, it shows how slow Dickov was in getting his squad together. And possibly why he got every Tom, Dick and Harry youngster later on.

So it stands to reason he has learned from his mistakes,..er hang on.

Absolutely but it also shows that L J 's statement in the MEN is factually incorrect and misleading

Kids who are reading the thread; football never used to be like this, we used to go to the match and get the Pink Final after. If we won great, if we lost, the dog got a kicking. All forgotten about on Sunday morning as you trawl through Saturdays results and tables over bacon and eggs.

I blame Jimmy Hill and Championship Manager.
