Meet the manager new date

Recommended Posts

[Excellent summarisation of the evening. I was there too and I thought it was a really good night. Absolutely no ducking of questions from MM, who I thought came across very well. The manager has a clear vision of what he wants for the club, and I for one hope that he's successful because he is obviously working very very hard. Clarky also spoke very well too. He is what he is, an excellent club man, club captain and a leader both on and off the pitch.

Everyone should get behind the club and all the staff.

KTF!!]

Meet the manager tonight some points.

Wants to bring youth through likes the progress of Edmundson, Mantack and Stott on loan. Rates Dylan King thinks others are not ready yet including Brendy Glackin

Admits throwing 22 players together was not ideal Went for players he has worked with and some to make up numbers etc 11 v 11 in training Woodland being an example If he was in the same scenario again would do it different. Started looking at potential transfer targets soon as the window shut.

Admits some of the players signed have not been at the best.

Peter Clarke pointed out about the young players such as Burgess, McLaughlin heads dropping when making mistakes. However they have started to improve and points out he told all the young players to focus and concentrate on what they do best rather than do tricks and stuff they cannot do or give the ball away.

Peter Clarke says whatever Flitcroff thought off him does not bother him and basically any player worth a bit of money was basically up for sale at Bury.

Still thinks Oldham will finish above Bury and rather be among this group of players.

Peter Clarke also said that unless you got bags of cash success happens over time and points out Despite having cash how long Sheff United been in this league for.

Robbo also said Winchester is still an important player who needed a kick up the arse. Like Ollie Banks didn't always understand his role but his now training harder long session at the GYM as he virtually had no muscle.

Winchester was set to join Swindon and a unnamed club wanted to take him on trial but Robbo sat him down. Has got him working he his 23 still potentially a good player in him. But When he has got into the team been unlucky with injuries.

Flynn done more running than any other player wants to play on left wing.

Burgess loan will be extended beyond Jan. Transfer embargo won't effect loanees. Clubs know about the scenario, worser case scenario Football will take the cash. Embargo will be lifted.

The HMRC bill and wage have been paid on time.

Admitted it was not just ticket money for the Embargo being placed.

Mentioned as part of the 6 years Sports Direct deal they where suppose to re paint the Chaddy and the words Sports Direct painted on. Not happened yet unsure when.

Also part of the deal no rivals clubs stuff such as local sides Man City, Man U merchandise to be sold in club.

Exceptions being Barcelona, Real Madrid shirts allowed. Joked until we are same level to call rivals.

Was the Referee decision to call the game off on Sat. The Ref spoke very little to grounds man, told Robbo decision was no negotiable, didn't speak with the Posh manager. Club has to pay Posh expenses but nothing to major.

Told temperature was 2degrees so need for covers to go on night before

Robbo said pitch would be classed as perfect on Old Windsor park.

Ant Gerrard been training is a strong face and a loudmouth but is not fit, still has problems with his Calf. Robbo knows people want him wants to make his down decision. He still months behind schedule.

Explained set pieces where a Problem mainly the first or second ball. Explained majority of games in the football goals become as a result of set pieces,

Was suggested about £100 season tickets used examples of other clubs said he had spoke to Bradford Chief Executive says the deal not as simple as people think. But there working on something for next season.

Mentioned Banks and Flynn on two year deals clauses to keep Clarke & McLaughlin.

Moisley said that the reason for the Scorebaord delay is because the one they went to purchase didn't impress them. Saw it in shopping centre in Derby. They also felt the one at Bury was to small neither value for money raised by fans. Said he crucified. However on his recent trip to China Simon Corney saw one speaking to the Manufacture, they can cut out the 3rd party at a better cost. He his having A meeting with Corney tomorrow.

Robbo felt club has no real structure when he came from basic things such as player meals. All scouting done by him, Barraclough and Nash.

Sent Barraclough to Lincoln to Scout tonight.

Compared Celtic to lower league Prem

Side, Aberdeen to a Championship team, Rangers league one and rest to League 2.

Talked about Northern Ireland how he love that atmosphere at Oldham.

Talked little about the sectarian divide but how football

Now had helped unite fans.

Scouting a young lad who's highly rated in Northern Ireland this Friday.

With the game being on Monday training changed so suit the game so Weds this week being like a Monday.

Moisley said Corney loves the Club wants to sell to right person. Mentioned he wants to stay at the club if bought he rather seek investment then sell. Maybe a trust member who was there can clairfy more on this how it was

Explained.

The OEC money goes to Brassbank etc Matchdays and football events. Told the OEC in demand with weddings, Christenings and over events.

Car Park Money goes to Latics, fan Sinbad asked the question why Corney was not there however Moisley said he will sort one with Corney. Got bit heated as people debated Corney.

Robbo does not read social media tells fans remember that players are human he ignores it does not like the comments aimed at his 11 year old son.

Says don't let the negative moaners win.

other stuff was mentioned am sure others will post on here or correct if any of the points where Mis heard.

Basically, we as the football club see nothing from the stand when its not a match day, so all the meals, weddings and other events, we see absolutely nothing from it.

Bit misleading seeing as it was said the profits will be huge from the stand, but oh well

It does go towards paying off the debt of building it though.

re. the above 2 posts (Dan and Opinions) - the Chairman will honestly answer all questions and fully clarify the company structures around the club - who pays what etc. - the sooner we get the session done, the better I think - to hopefully put these things to rest once and for all - and then concentrate on what suppporters can influence instantly - supporting the club.

Aye completely agree, i think there is miconception that people are annoyed at Corney because were skint, when thats not the case. Completely concede that he probably is a nice guy, hard working etc... but at the end of the day , the gripe is that there is a lack of transparency, e.g. With whats actually going on, and the feeling that he doesnt get held accountable for the unbelievable mess ups thats happened in the last few years.

If he genuiely, instead of half heartly admitting a 'few mistakes' actually came out, was completely transparent (looking like that might actually happen now) and basically admitted how many f*** ups there has been and held himself accountable, then im sure, i would myself anyway, change my opinion to an extent and focus solely on the football

With respect, only the Chairman will know whether he answers all questions honestly.

OEC is a separate company, why should we know that?

It's controlled by someone with a conflict of interest with the club. It also presents a reputational risk to the club, so it would be sensible for the club (therefore the trust board member) to have opportunity to review its finances.

Stevie - this is the trouble with message boards - context of people's written words.

What I meant to convey was , "Honestly people - the Chairman will answer all your questions - please just come and speak to him!"

Hope that makes sense - agree with you only some things will be known to the Chairman.

If I`m completely honest myself - it's like turning in ever decreasing circles on here - beginning to realise some will believe their own myths no matter what - without even at least trying to establish some fact - but I`ll see through to the end with the "questions for the chairman"

I'll admit to being sceptical about the true value of speaking to Corney but I commend what you're doing.

The earlier post listing out points from the meeting are generally correct, however I understood that match day and related football money, including associated car park revenue generated by the OEC go to 'the club' whilst the rest of the money earned by OEC goes to Brassbank to "pay off the £6 million".

Brassbank won't be paying off the £6m construction cost of the stand as it's an OAFC asset and the debt is on OAFC accounts. OEC pay their rent ( and apparently no one knows what the basis of that is) and that's where their contribution ends.

Meanwhile OAFC get £300k of income, of which about £240k is from season tickets which would have been received without the stand. The net additional income is therefore about £60k against a £6m investment.

Great planning and implementation by the club.

And how much would you say the annual wage bill is, not just players, everyone employed?
