  1. I'd say he is pretty accurate in his prediction that it won't happen. If you say that peoples opinion are split 50/50 on this and that is being really generous to those who support the signing. I'd imagine the dressing room would be pretty similar. I'm not sure how successful he would be at scoring when half the team don't particularly want to pass to him. Plus I'd say that most of the opposition players would be rubbing their hands trying to injure him. Plus the manager doesn't seem to want him, will he even get in the team. Massive risk. Corney should have perhaps bought a lottery ticket instead.
  2. If you don't mind I'd rather you included me with the baying mob. Because at the moment I've got more in common with them. I'd rather not be associated with the club and people like you at the moment. You're entitled to your opinion I just believe your opinion is completely obnoxious and vile.
  3. So you're saying Evans is a victim in this? Classy. So if I post my opinion that we shouldn't sign him on here OK, but if I post that opinion on other forums I become part of a mob?
  4. Don't know what happened to him just saying I've seen him act like a prat at away games before. I said end of because its that simple. Not trying to start an argument with anyone just putting my point across.
  5. No but I've seen him behave like an idiot before trying to intimidate people. If he's tried to do that to the cops he's got everything he deserved. End of.
  6. From what I've seen of him at away games. I can fully understand why he got booted out.
  7. He's been doing that for a while now. Brought a mate the other week and he thought the ginger lad was brilliant. If he belongs to someone on here. You're doing a great job.
  8. We've been far far worse than largely :censored:e with those two. The difference in ability between the two is huge. Hopefully they'll come good, but at the moment we've taken a big step backwards.
  9. It doesn't matter which foot you use if you can't pass to a player on your own team.
  10. As for Grounds, he was left exposed for both goals. Monty took the plaudits, quite rightly, today for his all action hight tempo game. BUT..... That flair and excitement we all want to see and that gets us on the edge of our seats comes at a price. And that price is that we can be left open and exposed. The 1st town goal came when Monty was caught out of position and Korey Smith was drawn out of the middle to the left to cover allowing Towns CM's to push on this caused uncertainty at the back and ended up with the ball in the net. The 2nd Town goal again saw Grounds exposed and the cross was put in. Where was Monty supporting his full back. The answer is nowhere near the scene. Both goals and both crosses were preventable. BUT do we really want to sacrifice the flair that is on display. Seven goals at BP in 2 games gives us hope. ^^^^^this Spot on Harry. I wasn't having a pop at Grounds he's probably one of our most consistent players. I just feel Brown is being unfairly targeted as a weak link. He's young and still learning. Yes he's hot headed but I think he feels he has to come across as a bit of a tough nut. He's only small and will probably be targeted by teams due to this. The tough tackling has been a feature of all the friendliest for me. All the players have been guilty of some over the top challenges over the last few weeks. Even Baxter put some crunching tackles in yesterday. Maybe this is something the manager is looking for? JCH could easily have been sent of against Macc too. I think the manager wants us to defend as a team from the strikers back. Basically Brown got cleaned out by their player in their first challenge then repaid him back with interest with the next 2 challenges. Fair play to him. After that he did everything you would want him to do right. He's also enthusiastic, he never shirks possession of the ball. He's always ready to show and ask for a pass even if he's under pressure.
  11. Hi Connor. The DVD 'How to be a better RB' is in the post. Enjoy. To be fair to Brown he had a good game today. Yes he was over zealous in a tackle early on. But I'd rather see him do that then back out of challenges. Did you go to the game today? Or are you just jumping on the bandwagon? Both their goals came from Grounds being caught out if position. In fact Grounds got ripped to bits second half. Brown was very rarely caught out and actually frustrated their players and fans. Think you're being far too harsh on a young player who seems to be developing.
  12. Came across this the other day, don't know if it has been mentioned on here before. Joe Royle has been blogging, some interesting articles and points of view from our ex manager. . http://directoroffootball.com
  13. I've written a blog about the weeks events at Latics, please feel free to comment. http://www.yellowfly.co.uk/welcome-to-oldham-lee-johnson/
  14. Sounds similar to this: http://www.elitesoccercoaching.net/coaches/lee-johnson/
  15. That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. To be fair before I went yesterday I could totally relate to what your saying. Don't you think it's strange though that 12 people plucked at random from this message board from completely different walks of life and backgrounds have all been fooled. I went in there yesterday pretty down and with a poor opinion of the club and the way it was being run. I had a list of questions I wanted answering, and all if them were answered and answered honestly. I get the feeling most of the others there all felt the same. It would have been really easy for him to get people fired up by saying 'we're not going down, it won't happen' blah blah. He didn't need to make any false promises, we might go down. If we do it won't be him to blame. I don't blame you for thinking negatively about this appointment. I don't think he is a 'cheap' option, and if he is cheap then we've got a bargain. We'll see over the next 10 games. He's got a very tough job, to pull this lot together, but if he can, we all know they players can do it. That's why I'm confident he'll pull things round.
  16. He's a bit of a Robomanager. You can tell he's reall driven and wanted to do this for a long time. He's been planning for this a long time. He's had a lot of traing in management, phsychology and is obviously well thought of at the FA, hence the fast tracking. He's that kid at school who knew exactly what he wanted to be, and knew exactly how to do it. I'm nearly 40 and I'm still not sure what career choices I should be making. He's got a plan, I think it might even be a cunning plan.
  17. He knew all about Crofts game stats, he knew average km's ran during games. He talked of game stats and vo2 max stats. He is obviously into sports science and will expect and demand fit players. He talks the talk and backs things up with FACT. Got the feeling that Dickov talked the talked and there was nothing behind it. By the end I think most fans could see through his talk. This guy seems very different and bit Corney and Barry remarked that there is substance behind his words. This came across today, and there appears to be a lot more to this guy than a good interview script.
  18. He has agreed a budget with Corney which he is more than happy with. He has a list of 30 players who he knows will be out of contract in the summer. He is big in checking players out. They have to be the right fit for the team and be the right type if person. Sounds like the recruitment of players will be down to fact rather than taking a punt on someone. He will train 3-4 different styles of play through first team to youths. So that the whole setup from top to bottom know how to play. So he'll defo have a plan b. Wont be playing homself but will be playing for the reserves so he can see how youths and fringe players play close up.
  19. I was just about to do the same thing, but you've pretty much covered it all.
  20. After meeting with Lee today, I've total confidence in the man. Very modern approach to the game and he won't stand any messing from the players. It was a pleasure to meet the guy and I think everyone should give him a chance and they might see something different than the usual crap weve been used to at BP. Looking forward to the game tomorrow now.
