  1. Possibly. But Turner does alright in the air and those 2 are probably our best goalscorers.
  2. Coleman Brown Burn J Wilson Mills Croft Kelly Winchester Jones Forte Turner I'd have it as a 4-4-2 diamond with Croft a winger and Jones a narrow left sided midfielder, Kelly holding and Winchester further upfield. Bench of Cornell, B Wilson, Gunning, Dunn, Green, Poleon and Cassidy is pretty strong.
  3. "Then down the line if I can get a move again, to a higher level, then that is what I am pushing on to do.” I think it's a stretch to call him a mercenary off the back of that. I got from that interview that he wants to play at the highest level, and he's going to get his head down and work hard to get there. Fair play to the lad. It can only benefit us one way or another if he achieves it.
  4. Have you got 2 selections in the same league? ie arsenal top 4 and Bournemouth to be relegated? Don't think they allow you to do that in an accumulator.
  5. Turner is a must start for me. Seems to take a decent proportion of chances and is scoring. Could be the goalscorer we've been after if he stays fit and gets the supply.
  6. I totally agree with this. I'm normally the first to get wound up by bad commentry (Jonathan Pierce) but there's something very welcoming and familiar about our team. They are a long standing part of the club and give me a sense of connection when listening. I wouldn't want to change Gordon's 10, 20, 30 yards for some slick cliché-riddled media trained youngster.
  7. I love the concept of the twitter troll, it must be such a fulfilling existence. I can just imagine an old man one day, with grandson on his knee, thrilling him with the story of how he once fooled a few latics fans into believing we were signing Steve Harper. We live in great times.
  8. I think I'm right in saying that from the video he said he did it, and from what people said of that game it looked like he did it. I don't really care whether or not a legal case was made to stick, there's enough there for me to be glad he's out of our club and to never want him back again.
  9. No you're right. I had a Rovers supporting mate and they were called the gas, or gasheads. First ground near an old gas works maybe? And I think Bristol City had a ground near a sewage works which would explain the name they had for them.
  10. Personally, I only saw him twice and both times his attitude stank. Giving the :censored: sign to the ref at Yeovil (and getting away with it unbelievably) and looking totally disinterested at Crawley. It all seemed beneath him. Going off highlights of other games he's clearly a talented lad and may very well go on to fulfil his potential. LJ would have sold the "bigger club" at Barnsley (and offered more £) so I doubt we even had a chance anyway even if we were interested.
  11. Agreed. Saw some :censored:ty attitude at Yeovil and Crawley.
  12. I think the whole point is we don't need him as a keeper. Coleman is being given the chance of staking a claim for no. 1. Which is great for our youth set up as long as he's given a bit of slack from the fans. If Ingham is brought in its for emergencies - a back up to come on as sub if needed. A club our size can't afford 2 1st choices fighting for the gk position. And also to provide an experienced voice. This seems like a good way of covering an area of the squad while spending little and keeping budget for other areas. Loans always available if it doesn't work with Coleman.
  13. From the quotes in the chron it suggests they were offered pay as you play deals. Fair enough.
  14. This one doesn't ask you to do anything at all. No clicks, no action needed. So unless it was phishing for 30 seconds of my time it's not done a great phishing job! Looks genuine enough when viewing on a mobile. All over the place on a pc.
  15. I would be shocked if we signed anyone from the championship unless it's youngsters released or on loan. Or someone like Gerrard who hasn't played. There's far too much money in that league. We'll be signing players from bottom half of league 1 and below.
  16. If it's playing budget you can make it work comfortably. 3x 2k 3x 1.5k 3x 1.2k 6x 1.0k 8x 800 7x 500 That's a squad of 30 on totally made up salaries totalling 30k per week.
  17. Does anyone know how many uefa pro licence qualified managers there are in league 1? Had a quick look but couldn't find the info.
  18. McLeod from relegated Crawley please.
  19. Deflated was the word I used yesterday. Having listening to his bbc interview he's certainly no tub thumper. But he did come across well, maybe last night in front of a baying crowd of fans who had no idea who he was the nerves kicked in!
  20. People cancelling season tickets before he's even been unveiled at the news conference? How about listening to what he and the club have to say about it all? How about asking for a fans forum to have it explained? I'm disappointed of course, I'm very worried that this will now be a season of cutting managerial teeth rather than a better attempt at finishing in the top 6. But let's at least hear from everyone involved before toys start getting chucked out left, right and centre.
  21. Thanks to everyone involved in running this. Cup semi final and just missing out on the top spots in the league. This was my 1990. Hopefully next year will be my 1991...
  22. Don't give up yet!... @OfficialOAFC: DK: "It's a massive challenge. I am a massive risk. I will have a creative style of play and we will play attractive football."
