  1. So who else is planning to go to Stockport without a ticket and hope for the best ? It's my fault as I didn't expect tickets to sell so fast, and I certainly didn't expect to have to pass some sort of Stockport Superfan test or be in their 'database' to get one for the home end either. 2,000 allocation - what a joke. We'd take that many if we weren't doing well. Looks like me and my fellow ticketless mates will just have to turn up early on Friday and see if we can charm those lovely Cheshire sett ladies at the ticket office.
  2. Is this confirmed ? I can't see anything to back this up on the Stockport site. Surely it would be too late to make the game all-ticket for the home fans.
  3. Taken from sikipedia : I can't imagine the Newcastle fans singing "There's only one Joe Kinnear" The pitch is full of 'em
  4. Only just seen that the Stockport tickets have all been sold...gutted about this...I didn't go today because that way I'd definitely get a pass out from her for the Stockport game...jeez...looks like its a piss up in Warrington watching the Roughyeds tomorrow then.
  5. Uncovered - no question. That's where atmosphere always is.
  6. I don't think there's anyone else on here I'd like to 'bump into' more than you, except perhaps Wenks...oh and your music is :censored:e. Are you the evil seed of Victor Mildrew...you sound like one miserable fecker.
  7. Ha ha ... that was the only time I have encroached on pitch to celebrate a goal (not on about full-time whistle stuff)... there must have been a hundred or more of us on there...not just chavs in burberrys either..my mate's glasses fell off his head in the melee.....I'm sure he was still searching for them on the half-way line when ball was being put back on the centre spot.
  8. Agree with all your comments fellas. But still don't believe Wimbledon deserved a football team and still believe they had about as much tradition as Wigan
  9. It's a big shame that Pete Winkleman moved the football club to MK, but really Wimbledon didn't deserve a football team....6k in the prem (even as low as 4k one night) is :censored:e. As for all this tradition baloney, well Wimbledon had about as much tradition and history as Wigan.
  10. We've had a decent mention on the last two Big League Weekend shows.
  11. Werneth is closer to the ground than Mumps or Mills Hill....all the trains that go to Mumps go past Oldham Werneth - Werneth is actually the stop before Mumps. Getting off at either Mumps or Werneth will involve a bit of a trek......if I was you I'd get off at Mumps...you're pretty much in town then and after having a few swift ones you can jump in a taxi which will cost you about 2 quid to the ground. The nearest boozer to Oldham Werneth is the Halal Inn, I :censored: you not...
  12. Someone's misheard the old St Mary's Boys war-cry ' S.M.B S.M.B '
  13. I love watchin roughyeds. must get to more games. their support isn't what it was but their crowd are generally far more down to earth and friendlier than ours. good luck to roughyeds in the play offs.
  14. So if our poor attendances can be put down in part to young Oldhamers leaving the area after higher education how come similar sized towns with football clubs that haven't had that much more success than us over the last 25 years i.e Barnsley, Burnley, Preston, Huddersfield be much better supported than us ? You can't tell me that these towns offer more to young people than Oldham. We live 8 miles from the centre of the UK's second largest conurbation - whether Oldham is 'dead' or not, our location throws up a mass of opportunities for both the highly qualified/skilled and not so highly qualified/skilled. Outside the South East, there probably isn't area with as many opportunities closeby as we in this area are fortunate to have. Most of my pals have been to uni and most have come back to live in Oldham/Rochdale boroughs and got very decent jobs. Our poor support really comes down to this - most Oldhamers/Rochdalians/Ashtonians are brought up by their parents as Man U or City fans. We never really get a chance to attract these kids.
  15. A lot of the Latics stuff inside The Queens was there before the landlord who subsequently went to the White Hart, wasn't it ?
  16. Yeah, the England flag and OAFC badge got painted over a while ago...shame, I really liked it. Haven't been inside the pub for a few years...I hope all the Latics pictures and shirts etc are still up....
  17. Seems to me that there are some good stewards at Oldham and then there are quite a lot of nobhead stewards. I might be wrong, but some of the stewards seem to work for OAFC and some seem to work for some security/agency type firm - the OAFC stewards I have come across have generally been ok..in fact, there are couple of stewards in the Chaddy who are definitely good men. But these security firms stewards who have crept in this last couple of seasons or so are generally the biggest set of tubes you could ever come across.
  18. Don't like saying this, but watching football at BP is rarely fun these days....even if we're good on the pitch, the atmosphere is rubbish, and now we've got jobsworth fecking stewards ruining it. Stand up if you hate stewards !
  19. I know one or two who jacked it in due to the smoking ban....sad really.
  20. Never ever been to a reserve game....that is 'superfan' stuff ...how many spectators do you normally get at BP for a reserve game ?
  21. If this is true then it's very sad (see my post on the other thread) but don't tar all Leeds fans with the same brush.....they've got their fair share of idiots, but so have we.
  22. I was getting a pie and a pint under the stand just before half-time and saw some fella being stretchered out....looked in a bad way...like he was having a fit or something....not like he'd been done over... How would Leeds fans get into our toilets ?...doesn't make sense to me....plus, knowing what some of our lot can be like there'd have been uproar if this did happen. Anyways, whatever happened to the guy, I Hope he's alright.
  23. Not true...what. We've been fending off bids for him all summer. He won't be at Oldham for long IF he keeps on playing like he is.
