  1. We won't take 2500. we took around 1000 last year?....think we'll take slightly less this time round.
  2. We took more than 1,000 in the Carling Cup game on a Tues night a couple of seasons back. I reckon a few will be purchasing tickets today and tomorrow. Me and quite a few of my mates haven't got tickets yet. Shame it's not pay on the day.
  3. Too right. I like the drummer normally, but can he please give it a rest at corners and let the traditional cry of '' C'mon Oldham '' be chanted.
  4. End o' day boys will be boys and fight...especially at times when they're coming up against lads from other towns. Has happened for centuries, and will probably go on for centuries. Not saying it's right and it's certainly not nice, but just think some of us need to be more realistic.
  5. Gotta agree with a lot of the comments in this thread....Rochdale fans deserve a lot of respect, but you would have thought they could have mustered more than 2.5k for their first home game of the season and closest neighbours.
  6. I thought we would have been much louder last night. I was sat right on the far left in the thick of the singing, but I could tell we weren't at our best. The game was poor and unexciting, so that didn't help. The Rochdale fans were, in a word, quiet - so that didn't help. Go to say I thought we would have been much louder....normally, our away support is more vocal. Can I just ask everyone if they were getting annoyed with tempo of our songs ? I certainly was....try singing 'Sheridans Blue and White Army' or ' Oh When the Blues ' at a ten words a second...it just ruins it. The tempo gets too quick when the clappers start clapping away like starving sea lions.
  7. Registered wtih Bluesquare for the sole purpose of placing a bet on Lee Hughes but Bluesquare have closed the book on League 1 topscorer. Emailed them and they said is was just temporary as matches were in progress (although they actually weren't). Tried to place it again today but still no option for League 1 top scorer. Maybe they'll get it back up on Monday. Did anyone manage to place a bet on Hughes with Bluesquare ? Have hundreds of Latics fans got on Lee Hughes and Bluesquare have got worried ?
  8. Agreed...lack of atmosphere is, in my opinion a contributing factor in the poor turnouts at home from Oldham fans. A good run of results wouldn't go amiss either though ! From reading about the atmosphere yesterday, I'm itching to get back to BP, and will probably try out the RRE ...but got me hands full with dirty nappies etc at the mo'. Looking forward to 'dale on Tues and Leeds on Sat.
  9. Most Oldhamers and Rochdalians talk with (false) Manc-type accents these days.
  10. I was in Edinburgh on the day of the Italy game like you pal and it was a bit scary being an Englishman...most of Scotland truly dislike us English. Except at Ibrox though...seriously Rocky, if you go to Ibrox you will see quite a few England shirts. Follow Follow !
  11. Avoid a place called 'The Funchal' at all costs....Hotel ? More like hovel. My mate organised it and said it was the only place left in Brighton with a room....when I checked in I could see why.
  12. Been looking back through my Team From A Town Of Chimeys book and the first black player I came across in the start of the season team photo is Sir Roger Palmer....my memory only goes back to '88, so can any of you older heads tell me whether Roger was Latics' first black player....
  13. How could I forget about the Dale game !!! Was just thinking about League games...but yeah, the Dale game is certainly one of the most anticipated games for a good while. Are the Dale fans looking forward to it....my Dale supporting fans don't seem all that excited...or perhaps they're just acting cool so they can act not bothered when beat them convincingly.
  14. Leeds, Huddersfield, Leicester and Stockport in that order....
  15. That would be disappointing. For once, I do have some sympathy with the Leeds fans - they're games are being moved around left, right and centre.
  16. Should be one more in the crew soon .... me and my better half are expecting a sprog anytime now (she was due on Weds 30th). Also, talking of new fans...anyone heard of Sky Sport's Website's Alex Dunn ? Seems he's an Oldham fan -------> http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11096_3896030,00.html '' Elsewhere, overall selections are suspiciously similar to the Fantasy Football Tips offered by my colleague Alex Dunn a week or so ago, as even the likes of Brazilian midfielder Geovanni at newly-promoted Hull has received a healthy number of managers' backing. A little bit of number crunching implies that, in your view, Mr Dunn - who suggested Geovanni will impress - is on a par with Sky Sports expert Andy Gray in terms of football knowledge and analysis. Alarm bells are ringing. You do know the man supports Oldham? ''
  17. Same here.... Love the promotion talk from some people on here before a ball's even been kicked. Really hope we go up, obviously. But there's some strong sides in this division this year and it won't be easy.
  18. SC always looks like he's got a brand new shirt on...his shirts always have those creases on them that tell you it's come straight out of the packet...just an observation.
  19. Maybe that has something to do with it then...but, yeh the seats are unreserved
  20. Gutted I couldn't go to the Masters last night but my partner is due to give birth anyday now so I'm on a tight leash. Watched the event on the tele and have to say that the Oldham fans there were superb.....very vocal. Every song I heard was an Oldham one.
  21. Surprised that ST holders didn't snap up more than the 900 claimed on here. I thought we'd have sold the allocation easily and ended up with some in the home ends, but I can't see it now.
