  1. Well if we beat Bromley we'd only have to make up 3 points from the other 10 games to catch them.
  2. I saw someone had written to Angela Rayner about it and got a nice email back from her Comms lady who is known to most Oldham fans on Twitter / X. Unfortunately parliamentary tradition states that the nominee's MP needs to lead the campaign. That is apparently Jim McMahon who was at the game on Saturday. I would think there will be some people on here who might have some familiarity with the process so would happily lend a hand crafting any letter. I know I would.
  3. Most of this thread was funnier when Monty Python did it https://youtu.be/ue7wM0QC5LE?si=Q3-9wVFoPojgXbuL
  4. I want both and more. Putting in effort is the bare minimum. Some players are better at putting in effort across the whole 90+ minutes, but being seen as "lazy" doesn't mean that player is. Not every professional footballer is suited to running around for 90+ minutes. Messi walks an awful lot these days but he can still turn it on in the 119th minute if given the opportunity. Not to mention some players are told to put in as much effort as they can for as long as they can because the manager is intending on subbing them anyway.
  5. Can the OP post in here after every game then…
  6. I know, I know. A Mr Liversedge, Noble, and Dr Kelso. Dr Kelso may have infrequently sought the opinion of other Latics supporting doctors too . I’m not sure when Dr Kelso retired, so his successor, Dr Beardsell might also have been involved. There’s a reason why football clubs can ask for a rescheduling of any game within 48 hours of another. It isn’t because modern footballers are lazy workshy layabouts, it’s because knowledge of sports rehabilitation has significantly improved since the 1990s. 17 years ago there were 3 recognised Sports and Exercise Medicine consultants in the whole of the UK. Nowadays there are double that number in Manchester alone. Plus about 10 in training in the North West.
  7. Like a number of teams there was a link to buy tickets after the game had taken place then.
  8. The home tickets were available the other week but haven't been available for a while. I noticed recently that the home tickets for their game against Dale are no longer on sale either. I suspect that this is going to be sold through us, so it will be ST holders first dibs, if they've any sense.
  9. Neal Ardley sacked by York. Askey heavily touted to replace him.
  10. No they don't. They mean playing the ball forward, aiming optional.
  11. Er as someone who sits in the MSU and was at Mellon's first home game I can tell you the answer. About 60 minutes. 60 minutes. That was all it took until some of the main stand were shouting "Forward" as we kept possession in the central third. The same main stand which is the easiest for Mellon (and Brabin) to hear. So what do some posters expect about his style and I know one heard it unless his hearing is very bad. If they didn't they certainly heard me chuntering about keeping the ball. Unless those in the Main Stand who shout variations of "Forward" every time we keep the ball by passing it amongst our back 5/6 are called out the style of play won't change. You don't change culture by going online and moaning, you change culture by actions at games. To the OP who was on here moaning the season was over in December, and now wants to sack a manager who has us in the playoff positions in late February (and likely in March) for the first time in 17 years. Can I suggest something - go watch another sport. Football isn't for you. Rugby (either code) is one where possession and territory are more crucial towards the outcome. Rugby League is also a sport more suited to the "Forward" lot in the MSU.
  12. Season was over in December so what do you care? Are you telling me you don't think we could win away at, say, Solihull, then again at, say, Barnet, the next (away) game?
  13. Looks like the best outcome for them is #TheGap to get 10 points wider. Maybe Ian Stott had the right idea after all *gets coat*
  14. Fairly confident Sharp said he was no better than what we had. Probably a reason why his only managerial job after us was at Bangor. Didn't he break his leg in a friendly? Then Dale took the chance on him that we passed on. To add to the list Ian Moore was virtually done until his Dad rang him.
  15. The original main stand burned down in 86. Think a few posters on here would enjoy that guys X output. Fairly certain the intercity trains from Wales and the West Country go through Maidenhead between Reading and Paddington. Didn't notice too many of them but what with the Elizabeth line did seem a very busy line.
  16. This when our attacking threat is so one-sided it makes it easier to defend. Teams could double up on Kitching with impunity knowing that the full/wing back on the other side won't cause them too many problems in the third.
  17. Oh yes you definitely can be. It's the sort of thing the GMC get angsty about though and rightly so from a patient safety perspective. I doubt America is more lax about the topic than we are.
  18. I saw a comment on social media about having to defend deep because Hogan is too slow in a 4-4-2. That makes a lot of sense. I think if we are playing 4-4-2 Raglan and Hobson might well be the CB pairing. If the team are well prepared then changing shape in the middle of a game might be a very wise option. It works higher up the pyramid. Borehamwood's manager said he predicted we'd change shape at HT but his side couldn't adjust to counter it. (He does seem to be a bit of a Billy Bullshitter though). It also keeps opposition managers guessing and makes them have to prepare for different scenarios, something that the part-time teams, in particular, will struggle with. However I don't necessarily think some of our squad have it in them to be that well drilled.
  19. It's 15% if the away club ask for it. So Dale and Chesterfield, without the cheap tickets. It's why Chesterfield had to move their fans for us earlier in the season and claimed it was late notice.
  20. Think this may have been due to a certain poster retweeting an old article from last year.
  21. I think there may have been 2 spot on attendance predictions tonight.
