Yep think there was a rumour going round at the time (it may even have been on here) that he didn't want to play for us after we signed Hughes. As his family were big Coventry fans. So his red card was "convenient" but I think that was some people putting 2+2 to get 5.

Apparently according to the Latics commentators, because Hogan got 2 yellows at Fylde the fact that the first yellow was his 5th of the season, is moot so it means that he essentially only has 4. I.e If he gets another yellow before the cut off point he will be suspended as that will now be his 5th yellow of the season.

Re The Headhunting. People can headhunt more than 1 person for a job. I wouldn't mind betting Thompson was asked to apply after he had done well in his first and/or second game. Probably why he was a bit miffed he didn't get the job. Likewise I bet Williamson and Parkinson (Alty) were also sounded out. Stephen Clemence coming from nowhere to be odds on favourite initially makes me think he had impressed someone somewhere. No doubt there were also applications from Jay from Derker who is great at Football Manager. Asking people to apply makes it easier to find those applications amongst the detritus of others.

I’m not ignoring it. I’m saying that you saying MM has lost 2 out of 4, is unfair, when you are counting a cup game away at a team in a higher league. MM has lost 1 in 3 in the league. That would still make your point, as he lost 1, and ST won a very similar game. But making conclusions from 6 or 3 or 4 games isn’t very wise and is unfair to both ST and MM.

Newport at home would be favourites against every National League side, with the possible exception of Chesterfield. They'd win 75% of those games. But yes carry on using a cup game against a team in a higher league as a comparison.

Norman is injured (not sure how long for). I think I prefer Norman as his distribution is excellent for this level. But on shot-stopping I think Hudson slightly shades it. Depends what you want / need. Hudson hasn't quite underperformed enough to warrant dropping if Norman was fit. Don't think either will be able to underperform for long once in the team though.

Like @Pidge said I don't think that's what MM meant by runners. I think he meant running not running direct, with or without pace. Hence why Tollitt is out on loan.

Hope, Dickinson, Ward and Green all run more than Tollitt. In fact I'd go as far to say the only person who can play in midfield who would run less is Gardner. Tollitt would run more than most of our forwards though. But when was the last time he played instead of one of them?
