I take it you are back watching Latics then and have witnessed the stready increase of bollockbrain behaviour of these "naughty children" ?

The main point of why fans should not go on the pitch (especially when the players are still there) is this http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22133379 Granted the kids might not punch a player but some of the fans on the pitch today where more than capable of taking a swipe at somebody.

Connor Brown has improved a lot after being given a run in the team and Cliff would be good to have for at least a backup defender plus he seems like an ideal candidate to help Lee Johnson. Think I would be saying goodbye to Simpson because he has been miss more times than hit and I would imagine he is one of the top earners at the club.

He was asked about Bury's financial situation and said it was a massive struggle for teams like Bury, Rochdale and ourselves. Looks like this merger that goes back years and never been taken off the back burner.

Corney when interviewed before the Bury game dropped the merger quote but said that Saturday was not the right time to talk about such things.

Well the straw poll that they ran was rubbish because we have been taking a young Asian lad with us for the last two seasons. Reporting like that is very poor because we all know that most of the people of Oldham wont watch Latics until they get some success.

I just hope Lee Johnson hits the ground running or the atmosphere is going to be horrendous at BP. If Lee is the new man I wish him well but the board have taken a massive gamble on a rookie when logic says we should be going for some experience. One thing that is puzzling is why has it taken so long to appoint somebody who is out of work ?

I am sure all the managers that Corney has appointed guaranteed him good stuff and they didnt deliver so dont see why Lee Johnson should be any different in that sense. The problem is logic says get someone in who can hopefully save us from the drop and looking back we did that with Ronnie Moore who had a decent record in the lower leagues. Johnson is a rookie and it just does not seem to be the right time for such a gamble is he is the man that Corney is going to appoint.

I had the pleasure of knowing Alex through playing Wheelchair basketball with the Oldham Owls. One thing that struck you from the first minute you met him was his enthusiasm for sport and a desire to please other people before himself. His work for the meningitis trust was truly fantastic and I am sure that other people in the future will benefit from his efforts to raise awareness of this terrible illness. His love for Latics could not be faulted and even when the team was playing below par it would not stop him cheering the lads on in the hope that they could turn things around and get a postive result. Rest in peace Alex

So while you and your mates are standing up have you thought for one minute about the people in wheelchairs who only have certain positions to view the game ? Do you think they will be looking forward to staring at the back of your heads for 90 minutes on Saturday ? I also see no reason why you should wind other supporters up by blocking their view just so you can kick up a fuss when all the stewards are doing is applying the laws of the land. Get a grip and start a dialogue with Barry, not sure how far it will get you because Latics are not making these rules only carrying them out. Taking up Barry's offer is better than getting on fellow supporters nerves. Thing is Latics could quite easily close the RRE to home supporters for the rest of the season. I think they will guage the reaction on here and if they feel they can get away with it they will bin us out of there fullstop.

I think this decision stinks to be honest for all supporters. From a personal point of view this will mean that I will have to navigate the buidling site aka Lookers carpark in my wheelchair. Funny how the club banged on about how they look after their disabled fans in the Sheff Wed programme! Get this decision reversed for the safety of certain fans and also for the majority who accept they are going to move for the big clubs but not bloody Tranmere.

How we get those 1500-2000 god only knows. Going to the football is an habit for many fans in the lower divisions because success is a distant dream. Under the Penney regime we lost a shedload of fans and now they have broken the ritual habit of going to bp it is going to take one hell of a product on the pitch to get them back.

Maybe you spent the day unconcious after being on the recieving end of a good kicking and therefore remember none of the violence ? Perhaps you watched Quiny's curling shot on tv with Gerald Sinstadt ?

It was an horrendous day, fighting breaking out in Oldham town centre and then rioting began around 1 hour before kickoff. Worst match I have ever been to when you really did feel like you where going to get hammered. I am sure the fa investigated the day because it was so bad and this was not that many years after Sheff Wed s went ape at BP aswell.fan

That was probably the game when the City louts invaded Oldham and kicked the living daylights out of anything that moved.

Thanks for those words of wisdom Barry. Maybe you would have been better off telling Penney he was signing a load of crap players last season and then we would not be struggling to get rid of them now ?

Abbott was on a big wage and lacked pace and he was shown the door and it seems Gregan will suffer the same fate. I agree that Gregan has been one of the best defenders we have had at BP for many years. Good luck Sean.
