  1. Not so. Often scouts at Latics matches, sat in the rows of seats in front of Roy and Mike.
  2. I was hoping that Salford would be forced to hand back all investment , forced to merge with FCUM , and the new club be docked 10 pts (each season).
  3. A great local journalist. Excellent turns of phrase. Moved , I think, from Latics reporter to Sports Editor when the Chron was an indispensable part of Oldham life. A line from one of his reports describing Colin Garwood and David Shaw as “goal bagging brigands with penalty area panache” is still a joy to recall.
  4. Plymouth ? https://twitter.com/d3d4football/status/1090240942525894658?s=21
  5. Still only 30 . He seems to have been part of this board forever. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6641229/amp/Aston-Villas-Micah-Richards-heading-retirement-football.html
  6. £300k. That’s about 20000 extra bums on seats over a season. 800 a match? Quite conceivable with a successful team . Not even factoring in possible additional sponsorship because of “the name” of Scholes . Plus the “saving” on what a Bunn might have been paid , possibly £40k It would be a gamble but ....
  7. I do respect the sentiment of those who criticise AL for apparently interfering in team selection. At the same time it does seem to revolve around just one situation i.e. Nepo at left back rather than in a more attacking role. Presumably leaving out Branger. I can’t recall any other suggestions as how he has interfered in actual selection from the pool of fit players suitable for the first XI. Are we over emphasing this particular problem?
  8. Was on the same bus. “ Dean’s dad” caused it as he said ad nauseam !
  9. For some Clarke putting his arm in the air almost justifies the penalty. Presumably Matt Smith’s equaliser against Everton should have been disallowed because Bouzanis had both arms in the air?
  10. From the Donny forum: Oldham had a couple of outstanding players, the goalkeeper, and the No 42 had great games and are worth keeping an eye on, making great saves, and the big midfielder breaking up play and looking to put himself about in the middle of the field.
