  1. my my,look at that, you edited your post 6 mins after posting it,and yes i do know that the two are seperate have done for a couple of weeks, unfortunately you didnt when you posted it,now point trying to back track now and paint me in the bad light. get a life.
  2. so my reply to as to why people may not want this has now transcended into another of your name calling catfights has it. yes your quite right,me and you havent seen eye to eye over the years, but that hasnt stopped me posting my thoughts and opinions just like you. we have all done our fair share over the years to help keep latics afloat in one way or another. that has been evident recently with the email campaign against the councillors of the planning comittee. for your information i havent had employment since october but that hasnt stopped me going to bp.and wont stop me in the future either. just because i dont have a season ticket doesnt mean im not a fan(here we go again) get over it and just admit that people have differing views to your own,and that you dont have to go around having a go at anybody if they dont agree.....ask a member of your family for some anger management classes for christmas.
  3. now whos putting words in whos mouth. i have never said i was against the development, far from it.the stadium should of been updated years ago for the good of the club and its fans. see you go galloping off at such a tangent you end up falling over that bottom lip of yours evry time somebody questions the validity of your thoughts.....and god help those that dont fall into line and back your view. you cant go round saying any oldham fan who doesnt want this is stupid, just like you cant call the people who live in the surrounding area stupid for not wanting it. i was trying to put across a point of view that you remain blinkered too. now just suppose next week your new council decides to sell of the land behind your home, and they sell it to a developer who is going to create something that will mean noise for 20 hours a day,an increase in traffic and something thats not asthetically pleasing to the eye, meaning everytime you go into your back garden you just cant relax or enjoy your surroundings anymore.....would you be in favour or against it. to call my reply disgusting is a bit of a cheek coming from somebody like you, especially as you have the gaul to have a go at an organisation that gives us more media coverage than we deserve by calling them kn-obs. at the end of the day you have left oldham behind now because in your opinion it is a decaying rotting town that no longer offers you what you desire. wonder how long it will be before you dump us altogether for a supposedly better club.
  4. some people want change and some people dont, and you cant take that away from them as its there democratic right to air there personal opinion, after all that is what you are doing isnt it oafc0000. you say god, would they rather live next to a :censored:ty dirt carpark or a state of the art development, and that you think there view of the sheer size of it all is pathetic. well have you ever thought of it like this....at present they have a :censored:ty dirt carpark and horrible view, but they are used to that, they are also used to the fact that normally there is only 1 game a week,2 if its busy. but when this is fully finished there is going to be constant noise traffic and activity around there houses 7 days a week, the fact that in summer if they want to sunbathe in there back garden they are going to be overlooked by someone either looking out of an 8 storey window or hotel room. you dont live in oldham anymore or live near the ground,so it doesnt affect you, until you go to games and want to park or have to queue to get in. the vast majority of people are pleased this is going ahead, but you cant moan and whinge about those that dont, just like you cant whinge at "die hard fans" who have a different opinion of the development than you.
  5. they have said they will give this town a stadium and facilities it deserves,to regenerate the area. i think in all honesty the money we will get as our income will come from the hotel and conferencing, the gym and office space as has been said. depending on what rates are set will decide our level of income. the land with planning permission is now a cash cow for tta's,and lets not get all dewy eyed and blue coloured specatacled, they have pumped a hell of a lot of cash into our club already, and want it back. i dont think for one moment they are in this to make massive profits, that simply wont happen, all they are doing is realising the potential in the ground to get there money back. the fans will be happy as they get a newly developed stadium, and the tta's go down in history. i doubt very much the council and residents will be happy with the way they do it. but at the end of the day if it prolongs the life of oafc for a good few years then hey...thats fine by me.
  6. "safestyle uk arena" you buy one ya get one free...I SAID YOU BUY ONE YOU GET ONE FREE"
  7. read my last post properly, and you will see i stated that i was asked to raise issue with this by someone who wishes to remain annonymous. by the sounds of it you are obviously angry and it has lasted for more than a moment or two. axe to grind....hardly,again i refer you to the bottom of my last post.....and im only posting again as i am now having to defend myself no one is saying admins and mods dont do a good job, as they do.i now personally how much time it takes up and the sacrifices neede to keep everybody happy. far too many people brownnosing now instead of just coming out and saying we all support the mods. as we all do.
  8. at last a sensible post and explanation into the why's and where fors, thank you mr rummy. the other so called mods or admin have missed an oppertunity,by merely stating it couldnt be opened and thats that,if you dont like it go to msn or another chatroom at the end of the day we do this for free so stop moaning and get on with it,its not really the response a resonsible admin type person should give. as it has been pointed out by others that there behavior and comments have only served to put people down and treat them with disrespect, giving off the hollier than thou attitude. i can see it and totally respect it from the admin side and also from the exiles side. im sure this will be a recurring problem that doesnt go away, and quite frankly i wouldnt blame any of the exiles if they did make there own arrangements away from owtb,as there specific group isnt being catered for. as i was asked to bring this up on somebody else's behalf,i shall draw a line under it now as the questions which i was asked to ask have been answered.
  9. you dont have to be admin or a mod to be able to open a chatroom or have special powers so to speak,i should know as i have run 3 message boards for various things over the last couple of years,it is at admins discretion to grant special powers. it cant be that rare if nobody was around and it may happen in the future can it. nobody is saying the mods arent doing a good job. the point that is being made is that this board was set up for the fans by the fans,it was free at first but then due to the impressive fan base it had to be paid for. as far as i am aware and im sure i shall be corrected if im not right, the merchandise that is sold via the boards shop pays for the upkeep of the board, and the mods dont get paid as they do it out of love for the club and board.any surplus money/s goes to sponsoring the club. as exiles of the club certain fans for obvious reason live in different countrys, making it virtually impossible to get to matches,so the next best thing they have is coming onhere on matchdays and having a right good natter about things. that is the point that is being made, those fans are not being catered for.
  10. but surely as has been pointed out, there are overseas members who rely on this service to meet up and enjoy the game.i know from past experience it is a good lively banter time about the game. as members of this board they should have some sort of option. opening the chat room up before people go to the game would be an option, abd closing it when the first available mod comes online after the game.its not just overseas members either, there is usually quite a few people who cant get to games for one reason or another. admins on message boards are able to allow certain members certain powers,so it shouldnt be a problem to let bob open or close a chat room. this board was set up for the fans by the fans,so just because there are over 500 members doesnt mean a small number cant be catered for.
  11. was probably along the lines of"well played lad, told you you should of stayed" i doubt shez would be stupid enough to start a catfight with an explayer in front of a lot of people, wellens could quite easily report him. more than likely it was the fan who said your a money grabbing big time lazy ar$e barstool.
  12. go to chapel road and tell him that then.im sure he will appreciate it. can we not just be pleased that we didnt lose and got a draw, yes we could of won 5 or 6,but we didnt.end of. just get behind the team instead of nit picking like a bunch of cackling fish wifes. our fans really do suprise me sometimes.
  13. hahahah,oh its brought a smile to my face this one. like about 4 years ago sat watching in the chaddy and this fat lad just wouldnt be quiet all games, after about 5 or 6 games i turned round at half time and asked him why he came,i got another load of abuse off him and was told to get out of going shopping. needless to say at the last home game it was pointed out if he bought another season ticket near me i would deck him everytime he opened his mouth. funnily enough he now sits in the paddock!!! the only problems i have is someones kid sitting behind me and kicking the seat for 2 hours.
  14. my god.can we not just sit back and be happy that were undefeated in 6 games now. can we not just say that since gregan has been injured the lads who have come into the side to ease the defensive burden.have done very well with the odd lapse in concentration. rightyo, since gregan has been injured and ricketts gone from the club results have picked up and we are playing better football, thats fact not fiction. does that not tell you then that maybe last seasons capitulation and bad results from crimbo can be attributed to greegan, just as ricketts was causing problems hes gone. coincidence???
  15. at this point of the proceedings, you cant let sentiment kick in and rule the way. if all goes according to plan as we are led to beleive, the stadium gets re-done and we move onwards and upwards. there is no reason why,if it becomes a roaring success that the owners couldnt buy the houses around bp.thus freeing up more available land to further redevelope the area making us financially viable for the forseeable future. now then if the nutters in planning reject it again, lets not hold back, tta will up and go,they have give it there all and that is all they can do.we copitulate inot obscurity and dont have a team, never mind a boundry park. ground sharing would be the last throw of the dice.and there would be no problem say having something built on the royton/rochdale border, the only problem would be green belt. i wouldnt rule it out and i wouldnt be against it,simple reason we would survive, and that is what it is all about, not living in the past on memories.
  16. if he can play in the premier league....so can i. i dont think hughes will go anywhere at least until the summer.he will want to repay the faith shown in him by the club and fans. and lets be honest, hes scored 3 goals.
  17. great result for us this afternoon,3 goals and a clean sheet. great for hughsey to get off the mark. but will he get in the team of the week!!!
  18. i think your missing my point. the residents will not be happy full stop.no matter what is built and created they dont want it. i was trying to point out that oldham is crying out for other leisure facilitys, and seeing as this development is being plugged as regeneration for the greater good of oldham as a whole, you would of thought that something along those lines would have been incorperated into the design. plus anything like that could be put away from the majority of the residential area. you give the majority of the town something they need and want, and they will back you all the way.
  19. thats true.and especially in this case. but we only see things in blue and tangerine so to speak.we know why the club wants this development the way it is. the people of oldham have been crying out for other leisure facilities for years, like ashton and bury, all im trying to say is that if those kind of amenities were incorporated into the scheme, you may have got more backing from the wider community, and maybe a lot more people would be willing to help fight the decision,as it is its basically the clubs supporters, and a couple of thousand others.
  20. there is a bit of truth in that. how are the residents of oldham going to benefit from a conference suite,or even the hotel. the leisure centre will get used yes. but like someone else has said,i think the whole project would of got greater backing from all of oldhams communitys if it gave us something we havent got.ie cinema complex, bowling alleys and so on. we know wht tta want to build it as they do.but not everyone does.
  21. does anybody know if there are any empty shop units in the town centre. maybe get a short term lease to open it up with plans of the new development, just what it entails, and how it will benefit the great public of oldham.. we all know what its about, but lets be honest, most folk in oldham wont be bothered about a hotel,or conference facilities as they will never use them, the gym may be the only thing they would use. if it was a development with a cinema, bowling alley and other entertainment things like that then people would be more interested.
  22. if jacko says march...you march, lol i see that papperazzi bloke hansford got on it too, glory seeker.hahahahah cracking video,if you get a link for download ill put it on 3 or 4 sites.
  23. my thoughts are with you and your family. you know what your priority is,leave the rest in others capable hands. we will keep the faith going.
  24. maybe someone could organise a petition for the general public to sign, and a few people with time on there hands stand in oldham town centre, get a sense of feeling from all the public.
