  1. Worrall wants to be able to put early balls into the box, we don't have the strikers that will take advantage of this. He made a couple of good runs yesterday to get in behind the defence but unless he moves over to the other side of the pitch to link up with Harkins no-one see's them or is able to pick him out. He isn't really a player to run at the full back and take him on, however he does have the ability to put a decent ball into the box but when he manages to do this (and he hasn't done it often enough since he's been here) do we have anyone who is going to get on the end of them? I think had he and Rooney been able to link up they may have both looked better, much like Porter/Liddell a few years ago
  2. Does anyone know of any half decent pubs near the ground that might be showing the Italy v England match before the game?
  3. 1st andy barlow Alltime lee duxbury Current don't really have one but think Winchester and philliskirk have bags of potential
  4. I think it's about time we started giving out longer contracts and getting a bit of stability in the club, whether Johnson is the right person to start this with only time will tell,It is certainly strange timing with the run we are currently on. However we need more than just a manager with a long term contract, we to start gambling on players, 1 and 2 year contracts are no good if we are to make this work long term with a settled squad of players.
  5. Gutted, I turned down tickets for England v all blacks at Twickenham so I wouldn't miss this game
  6. Dux was getting lots of praise when he first started working with the kids here, and managed to stay on here through a few manager changes will be interesting to see if he manages to get on anywhere else.I think greegs may well be a decent coach given the chance
  7. 1. Dux 2. Gregan 3. Milligan Dux was fantastic, not technically the most gifted but never gave up on everything, led by example and always popped up with a goal when needed, loved his goal at Maine road
  8. I have a couple tickets for Coventry next month if anyone wants any (I wasn't able to get the time off work) general admission, think they were about £60-65
  9. Would like to see him back, though i don't think he's as good as Grounds he would be a good back up and give Grounds a bit of competition for his place. He's still relatively young and has improved since he was last with us from the couple of times i've seen him play for Tranmere.
  10. I will be buying a new one, although my mum can't afford one, she's on a pension now but not yet 65 so doesn't qualify for the senior citizen ones at latics. Was really hoping there would be a better deal though to get more people buy one this season as i think crowds will really drop if we don't have a good start next season. I don't think the price changes for the kids tickets will stop them causing problems in the RRE, how many kids under 12 were causing problems? I'm glad its not more expensive for the kids ones in the main stand now though, it used to really annoy me having to pay £150 for my nephews when it was only £50 in the other two stands and i will now be able to bring two of my cousins kids along and hope they get hooked!
  11. i nomally say never change a winning team however i think were going to need an extra body in midfield against Everton if they aren't going to over run us
  12. Although brown had a shocker today I'd leave Winchester in midfield. I thought he had another good game and a run of games there will do him the world of good.
  13. I like Winchester I think he's going to make it. I'm so glad he did well today, a few times he was caught out looking for a pass when he should have just got rid but on the whole a really good game and great assist
  14. I like Winchester, i think given the chance he can certainly make it at this level. But he needs to be playing alongside Furman or Wes it was never going to work with him and Changy but we didnt really have many other options today. He was in space quite a lot and asking for the ball but it just got hoofed over him today - which i wouldnt have a problem with if we had someone playing up top with Smith to get on the end of his flick ons. Winchester also made a couple of good runs forward one which he nearly (and probably should have) scored from and a few others that weren't seen by the other players. It was also his first game for the first team for a while, i hope he gets a run in the team alongside Wes while Furman is away
  15. I've used the voucher from one of the season tickets already no problem but I want to use one from my mums to get a voucher for a guy who sits near us who's on holiday for two weeks, if id known they were giving out more to season ticket holders I would have got one last night to save me having to go and queue again on Sunday
  16. I.presume I can.still use this for the Brentford game and get a voucher?
  17. My favourite ever Latics player, if only he was still playing for us now. I have only ever heard good things about his coaching ability especially of the young kids coming through, surprised they've let him go
  18. He always is but brown wasn't overlapping early on as much as wabara usually does so it took all the width away
  19. Does anyone know if you can choose which block you get tickets for? I always seem to end up shoved up in the back corner with a crap view in games like this
  20. Irwin, jobson, Barrett, Barlow Or in more recent times - eardley, Gregan, hill, Armstrong
  21. Detect All dont look after the intruder alarm at the ground
  22. I always remember Payton scoring a few against us when we were in same league as burnley a few years ago
