    I'm a bit disappointed we've not had a video of the first training session on the pitch this afternoon. Didn't expect it to be on News at Ten but thought we'd have put something on twitter and the official website.

    Think the stats had us with more possession, more shots (less on target) and more corners. Sounds like we did ok but Southend is the game to start looking good.

    Signed Watters from Cardiff as well - wonder if that frees up rumoured target Norwood? (Still don't think another striker is a priority though).

    A really good season long loan shouldn't be ruled out though. Loan players should be players you can't afford so in effect should be better than what you have. The scouting system is now in place where we could be picking up a talented right back for example without paying a fee which we seem to have been trying to do with Ogle.

    I remember him and I've got a shocking memory for players and previous seasons. Think he came from Derby. Also remember Alan McNeill picking up dad, me and my brother and taking us to the dogs at Halifax I think or maybe Bradford. Also Paul Edwards buying us some chips in Shaw as we were out with his cousin!!!

    Rochdale seem to have recruited well including a right back on loan from Derby - seems strange that we aren't looking at loan players(as yet)! Cue triallist no 2 appearing on the team sheet!!!

    19 outfield players training this morning including Dan Gardner - Sheron in the gym so maybe out tomorrow.

    Given the timescale and the problems with Elite/Hummel it's a good effort - don't like the half collar though!

    Weirdly we seem to be trying for another striker. Just get a right back and maybe another centre mid to help Lundstrum please lads.

    There were a few nasty challenges from Southport players just in those brief highlights. Stupid from Nuttall but the guy tried kicking him which then carried on and he went back at him 2 or 3 times. Should have hit him harder!

    Lundstram was excellent in the second half - found it a little strange that one of Shelton or Sheron didn't stay on rather than moving Will Sutton into midfield and playing the full 90. Good right wingback required as Hobson and Raglan will make a decent 3 in the centre of defence with Hogan.

    Don't think Ward is in full training at the minute - sat out what I saw today and has also been in the gym earlier this week.
