  1. Fair enough then, knew it was round about that time but didn't realise Baxter and Rooney had left.
  2. To be fair, when we were linked with Gregory I'm pretty sure we had Baxter, JCH and Rooney on our books so him not being any better than what we had at the time may have been a valid point.
  3. Brian Wilson has been a steady, reliable, dependable player in both of Shez's spells at the club. Which like you say it makes it more baffling considering that Darren Kelly tried to bin him off and Robinson rarely played him. Wilson apart, it's been great to go to games since Sheridan came back and see players putting a shift in and giving their all.
  4. I wasn't aware of that but it'll be a vast improvement on what's there currently.
  5. Obviously finances are tight at the club but it could brighten the jimmy frizzell stand up (and hide that tired looking corrugated plastic) with a few huge pictures of the great man on the inside of the windshields. Bournemouth have done a similar sort of thing with photos of their players.
  6. Pogs did indeed keep 18 clean sheets during 2002-03. Would probably have been more had it not been for injury towards the end of the season thanks to Adrian Littlejohn during the port vale game
  7. I think Bury would've been better off sticking with Chris Brass but they seem reasonably happy with his appointment.
  8. It was mentioned earlier on in the 'ex players and that' section. It's not the first time he's been in bother with the police if it is him. Seem to remember Corney saying a few years back that he had to go down to cop shop in the early hours to bail him out.
  9. You'd assume that Robinson would know him reasonably well from the Northern Ireland setup and would have an idea whether he'd be up for linking up with him again. Like has been said though managers say many things at these 'meet the manager' events.
  10. He had a spell as joint caretaker manager with David Eyres in 03-04 after Dowie jumped ship. I think he also helped Billy Urmson prepare the team after Ritchie was sacked but I wouldn't really count this as a 'spell in charge'.
  11. If the club have received a sizeable fee with add ons for a player in the final year of his contract then it's good business. I think it's fairly safe to say that under the current circumstances it'd be unlikely that he would've extended his stay. With the undisclosed fee business we'll never know
  12. It's good to see the backroom staff being appointed, experienced ones too. It just seems strange that there is no manager in place yet. Usually you'd expect a manager to be appointed and then to subsequently appoint his own team. We seem to be doing it the opposite way round. Unless someone is waiting in the wings and we're just waiting for a few things to be ironed out.
  13. I don't know, that's probably a question for the Playershare committee. I've no doubt that many fans who would be willing to contribute are dissuaded from subscribing to the scheme because of the reason that I mentioned in the previous post.
  14. Playershare is undoubtedly helpful to the club. My only issue is that if fans were to contribute considerably to playershare, that Corney would cut the wage budget further on the premise that a healthy sum was coming into the club via Playershare funds. Basically we would not see the benefits of the scheme.
  15. I just hope somebody finally buys into his philosophy this time round.
  16. Absolutely, which is why the club should be doing their utmost to get him tied down on a long-term deal.
  17. Not a bad ratio then, especially compared to other keepers we've had over the past few years.
  18. Just out of interest, does any statto know how clean sheets Coleman has kept? He seems to have kept a fair few in the forty odd appearances he's made.
  19. RIP Betty, a pleasant lady who did a great job at Junior Latics back in the day.
  20. As if two successive relegations for Hyde weren't bad enough. It looks bleak for them.
