    We always start the first half and second half brightly and seem to move the ball around quickly but it lasts for five or ten minutes then resort to Unsworth shit ‘dont lose’ tactics

    When I watch a lone striker try and press whilst his partner doesn’t close down the closest player and the entire midfield stand still in a perfect straight line on the half way line, week after week, then yes, I believe they are following instructions

I’m not interested in quotes about what players you inherited, you took the job knowing the squad, now its time to earn you wage and get results on the pitch because currently you and YOUR squad are taking us down

    Stobbs for me was dropping back far too much. Needs to be 15-20 yards further up the pitch. Far too often he was 5 (or less) yards from Clarke, demanding the ball and it was such a ‘non pass’ with no end product. Gardner was excellent, saw plenty of the ball and was picking out players all night. Thought Porter and Hope played well together. Some good overall play tonight, and also a few things to work on bit thats what pre season games are all about
