I was at the Midlands Masters on Saturday with a mate who's a Wolves Fan. Carboni was a class act and scored some top quality goals - admitedly past some old, fat ex pro's but hey this is League One after all. He did look super fit but how would be against Exeter on a chilly Tuesday night? Thats Penney's call to make. He was top scorer erm.. 8 goals I think and player of the tournament.

Thanks for the memories John - FA Cup runs, play-offs, big derby wins and showbiz football played on the floor. You are a Latics Legend and will remain so forever as far as I am concerned. You were 100% loyal to your senior pros because that is your character - Loyal and 100% geniune as a bloke. John, you have given us lots of pride as Latics boss and a player where you put yourself second to the good of the club and for all of this I personally thank you. I am sorry it couldn't end in the place where we all wanted to be, but please come back to BP as soon as you are ready and I will be on my feet to give you the ovation that you deserve. We must both move on but remember that there will always be a part of you at BP. You are part of the fabric of the club now. Don't go changing Shez and I wish you the very best wherever you are.

Was relieved after the Corney/ Hardy 'rant' on LW that it wasn't just me over-reacting. They spotted it way back then so why is it still going on? I am sentimental about this club but God his time is up. Gutted but honestly, its the best for Shez and the club.

Harry that puts the whole situation at BP in a nut-shell for me. I Have been supporting the Latics for 38 years and don't want to go back to pre-Joe gloom. The only thing I would add is that Shez does not have any experience to confide in or guide him when he needs it most... Now. Its not every day you lead a team like Latics to the brink of the play-offs - let alone to promotion via the play-offs. They are 2 different things by the way. Maybe Big Joe would be a good appointment as a mentor to Shez as Shez now needs someone to help him close the season off in a satisfactory manner from all our view points. Shez needs help not the sack and we will then have a valuable manager on our hands. We need to remember Shez is new to this and we are in a win or bust - like position.
