  1. cant say im over the moon with this one, our defence wasnt great last season and we got the same as last season (unless JJ is a massive improvement on Daniel Jones). I dont mind Greegs but I would like to see another (better) CB signed up with Greegs/Rubes fighting it out for the other place
  2. McCall gives up on Furman Bantams boss accepts defeat over midfielder Stuart McCall has accepted defeat in his bid to bring Dean Furman to Bradford on a permanent deal. The midfielder won the fans' affections after a season-long loan from Rangers, but the Bantams boss admits that the chances of signing him this summer look slim. The 21-year-old played 33 times last season for the League Two club, scoring four goals in the process, but the South African has attracted interest from clubs at a highers level. The Gers youngster is said to be on the verge of joining a League One side, with Oldham hotly tipped as his most likely destination. "We've been very good with Deano and he's been terrific for us," McCall told the Telegraph & Argus. "I know he loved his time here and would like to come back but, in fairness, he wants to play at the highest level possible. "As much as we've done everything we can to get him back, I think he'll be joining a League One club if they can come up with the (compensation) money that Rangers are looking for. Disappointment "We've waited a little while to try to get him and I'm disappointed but I can see that he wants to play at a higher level if the chance is there." If the Bantams do fail to capture Furman it will be the second time this summer that McCall has lost out on one his top targets after another loanee from last term, Nicky Law, opted to join Rotherham United. Now McCall must turn his attention to shipping players out as he looks to reduce the wage bill in preparation for new players coming in. However, the Scot has revealed that he has received no offers for high earners Graeme Lee, Michael Boulding and Paul McLaren. "I've not heard anything otherwise," he added. "There are a lot of players out there in the market these days and everyone knows that, apart from a few clubs, finances are cut. "Whether anyone can match their wages, and whether the lads want to go to these clubs, we'll have to wait and see. "At the moment I expect to see the lads back for pre-season and we'll take it from there. It's a difficult position." Sky Sports
  3. We were due to get married at the Avant this month but they then sold it at we had to change venue and the 8th was the only date available. I am def making sure im going to the masters to make up for it.
  4. aaawwwww crap, I was hoping for a crap away game first day of the season. I get married that day. I planned that well didnt I
  5. Is there a particular pub everyone is going in?
  6. Does anyone know if you can pay on the day?
  7. Not really- take a couple of weeks to see what offers come in, take a two or three week holiday they come back and sign for your new club just before pre season training starts. The season didnt finish that long ago. I think you will see a lot more signings over the next 2-3 weeks.
  8. I would be very happy if those two were signed
  9. And why would you move him from left back to cover at right back when Eardley is a right back
  10. Give me football Someone mentioned on another thread that this would be up today. Dean Holden is available on a free
  11. He wasn't good enough for league 1 anymore so of course he would have done better in the championship
  12. Interesting site Earley - Value £289,250 Fleming £356,000 Lee £133,500 Mark Crossley £445,000 Sean Gregan £1,550,500 Daniel Jones £178,000 Seb Hines £178,000 Kevin Maher £311,500 Ian Westlake £712,000 Dean Windass £534,000 Andy Liddell £623,000
  13. I'd be a bit gutted if Deano went but happy if we sign Clarke.
  14. As far as i knew it, he was wanted by the manager but the club weren't willing to take the risk spending £100k on him.
  15. It would be great for me. It tends to be border line for me each year for the amount of games I can get to buying a season ticket or not. I normally dont get one (last season it prob would have been worth while getting a ST). This year I prob wont get to any games in late Aug and most of Sep (and then odd games during the season) so it prob isnt worth me getting a ST this season but a 10 game one would be ideal.
  16. The way I read that, "Dave said he's interested but didnt offer me a contact and said I would be back up, Notts County offered me a nice big contract and promised me I would be first choice"
