  1. I would think the manager would have known that he'd be fasting when we signed him. So the club can't really have any issues with him. But, I think that this type of thing would be a consideration when signing players, along with thing like if your players are going to bob off every year for a couple of months to play in the African Nations.
  2. As usual, this season I can't see past the Cardinals. Although they'll do their usual 'lulling teams into a false sense of security' start.
  3. o4u Jr must be knocking on a bit to be involved in two games that have been called off.
  4. Wouldn't we have had Oxford's number, so Leeds away?
  5. Hurrah, Mexico wipe out all my Euro losses. NB. I can't believe no one seems to watch the Toulon tournament.
  6. Hurrah, I was at this. I have to say that the crowd at all the events was so middle to upper class it was horrible. A queue of folk to pay seven quid for a pie at the ExcEl will be my lasting memory. And table tennis is :censored: to watch. But handball is quite good.
  7. Any sport that costs loads of money to perform will end up being elitist. Dressage is certainly that. For every hard working parents case there will be a rich millionnaire with nothing better to do.
  8. On the bright side, at least the premier event isn't brought down by a non-random drugs testing country that win virtually everything at that level. Especially a bloke that improved his times by half a second in a single year, even then stopping to have a look around at the finishing line...
  9. Well, at least people got in at Old Trafford. At Newcastle many fans who had ordered their tickets and had to pick them up missed practically the whole first game. Which includes Mexico and Korea fans, but hey, they got to watch Gabon v Switzerland. Some were even directed to pick their tickets up elsewhere. London.
  10. Not sure myself. The law relates to helmets not being worn for equipment. The other law relates to 'willfully' using equipment other than the person, which he wasn't doing.
  11. If we are talking non-league I wouldn't mind seeing a loan approach to Kwesi Appiah (he's at Palace at the moment, but I count as a non-league player yet). He'd be practically free, and will knock in at least twenty or **Potentially libelous statement removed** for a giggle. Allegedly.
  12. It really doesn't look great for them. However, hotel is booked and night is organised. Anyone know any second rate teams in Pompey incase it goes tits up? NB. On a side note, It's not completely wasted as I'll catch Cardiff (Sunday) & Bradford Park Avenue (Monday) on the way back home.
  13. Oh well, the planned meal has fallen by the side, so now I am turning out to my first friendly in years. Well, I'm going to York.
  14. Not exactly distraught. Looked like a young player with potential who may turn into a decent player on the time of loanee clubs. Think Bertrand. All of the hassle, few of the rewards. Rather an old head amongst the kids at the back myself.
  15. Great, I'll come and play a some crap in your back garden then whilst the kids are sleeping (don't worry I only play drums and the harp). Then everyone can rush off and reinact the Duisburg Love Parade afterwards. That is proper rock n' roll.
  16. Well, alot will suffer from a lack of room in their stadiums (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18735027), but one team in Queens Park must have pound signs instead of pupils right now. They could conceivably get about 200 times their average gate over those two matches, or eleven years' worth of takings.
  17. I know it's crazy. Some selfish singer potentially ruining a venue for musical events due to his own selfish egotistical opinion of himself.
  18. I don't think there's many left in it in terms of winning the tour now. Well, three (Wiggins, Evans and Nibali). My tip this year went tits up when Ryder Hasjedal went bouncing along the road.
  19. If you think £36k is top 4 of the premiership then you are on cloud cuckoo land. That's not even premiership really. Rooney is on a reported £160k unless he has signed a new contract when I wasn't looking. The highest paid player is Yaya Toure on £220k a week. From a selfish point of view, I wouldn't mind them (Pompey) going tits up as it takes a relegation place. Just wait until October as I've booked the hotel on a very good weekend away now.
  20. ...and I'll say it again. Put into their contract that all social media is not allowed. At best they'll reveal line-ups, injuries and internal rifts. At worst they'll go on about slags being raped, etc.
  21. A good one in York if you have kids is the cat trail as you take in the city (http://www.yorkluckycats.co.uk/york-cat-trail.html). If stopping for food I found the Old Siam very agreeable (until the next morning when moulten lava left my arse): http://www.theoldsiamyork.co.uk/ Other pubs I know of worth a mention are the Black Swan (http://www.blackswanyork.com/), Pivni (http://www.pivni.co.uk/) and Snickleway (http://www.thesnicklewayinn.co.uk/index.html).
  22. I can hear 'The Diary of Horace Wimp' in my head right now. Mixed with Sweet talking woman, Telephone Line etc. A song from this new fangled "Stone Roses" I do not know. That Plan B the modern lads mentioned is pretty good though. He can sing and everything, like.
