Well that's the bed you've made for yourself. Budgets have been cut....and that was decided weeks before Penney's departure was announced. It was always going to be the case if we got rid of Penney that his replacement would be a lot cost budget appointment, like Gray or Duxbury. So, enjoy!

And so you should. As should everyone. Do you think we have the money to bring in a marquee replacement? Honestly, Duxbury and/or Gray could well be on the cards. We've got no money for marquee signings either. As BB80 would put it....we'll be bringing in car boot players. No one decent would want to join us anyway and given the fact we can't afford to pay them to join us means our summer transfer look very bleak. I'm calling it now, next season we'll be just as bad or worse off as this season. We can't afford squad improving players and our manager is likely to be an inexperienced first timer (Duxbury, Gray, Butt). At least if we stuck with Penney we'd have kept a more experienced manager, had more money to spend 'cause we wouldn't be paying him off. Would have given him another season to build on his team.

He was up against it under impossible circumstances. Fans had made their minds up about him after 5 games, after that he was never gonna match our unrealistic expectations with the fans on his back and no time to build. Well, I hope you're all happy....we've just paid our manager off, our season ticket sales and attendances are at an all time low, we've got no one to sell, and the next manager and the players we bring in the summer will reflect this. You think we signed crap players last summer? Just you wait 'til you see what the new manager can buy with our 50p and a Mars bar budget. Relegation is a real threat next season, we'll have one of the worst squads in the league. I pity the poor bastard who has to manage us and meet our demands of instant promotion and Premiership within 2 years. If I was a manager I'd want nothing to do with this club. No time, no patience just whiney arse fans who give the manager crap after 4 games. It's a thankless task and our next manager will probably reflect the fact that no manager with any self respect or decent managerial ability would want to come near us. Penney was up against it after just a few games and the fans had already made their minds up. This club will go no where anytime soon because no manager is given time to build. Who else has bought this? I prefer it to FIFA 10, the gameplay feels a lot more refined, a lot more fluid (as it should considering it's football of the highest standard). Penalties are a bit overly complicated but other than that it's a pretty sound game. Although one on one shooting is just as bad, no the ball doesn't go straight at the keeper on this one, it just always goes wide or hits the post. : / I'm also gutted Furman isn't in the South African squad 'cause I was gonna use him for Captain My Country. Then I thought of Calvin Zola for DR Congo but he's not on it either. I might have to settle for Eardley for Wales. I haven't took it online yet. At the moment I'm just happy doing random friendlies and exploring other countries.
