  1. Cracking player who has bags of ability and never goes missing. Heard Real Madrid were after him but they opted to go for Kaka instead. I hope he doesn't leave us.
  2. We got Richie Wellens as part of the deal...Vernon for Wellens? Every day of the week. That said as for striking options next season....I doubt we'll have a plethora of great options but I'd definitely consider signing Tresor Kandol, he has his critics but he can score goals. I reckon him and Abbott would work well. He's surplus to requirements at the moment and I doubt they'll be too much competition for his signature (other than the usual Walsall, Tranmere, Carlisle, etc). He's not out on contract but Leeds don't want him. Maybe get him on loan for a season or permanently for a nominal fee.
  3. As others have said £40 for a Carlotti top = Not worth it.
  4. Well, we've got players other team would probably want but that fact we've played crap 'cause of players like Whitaker and Colbeck means these players haven't performed and haven't stood out to bigger teams. With a few other decent players then the likes of Stephens, Abbott and Taylor will shine and then garner interest from other teams.
  5. I'll be brutally honest though, I'm chuffed at the fact that our biggest selling worry this transfer window is a young kid who hasn't scored who won't have a huge bearing on next seasons plans. I mean, last season I was dreading losing Eardley and I didn't want Hughes to go. The season before that Taylor and Smalley were linked with moves away as well as Trotters and Kilkenny in January. The the season before that it was Porter and Wellens. I'm just relieved that I don't have to worry about losing any important first team players this summer and can relax and enjoy the incoming transfers.
  6. Gregan Abbott Stephens. ....or maybe: Messi Rooney Torres
  7. From what I heard (on here) we could have signed him for the wage he was on before but we offered him less. I dunno if this was the case but if we could have simply renewed his existing deal but chose not to; we were complete fools, who are we to turn down a 18 goal season striker? He'd have had a field day playing off Abbott. That said, it was only a rumour. If we had to match Notts County's deal then giving him a new contract was a non starter. Any hate towards Hughes (as I have seen posted here) is completely unjustified, he did his job for two seasons, scored the goals, contributed in a memorable win against Everton. His form fell at the of the second half of his last season but which player's didn't? All over the park, by the end we were complete crap, last season. I hope if he's plays against us next season we don't abuse him. In terms of ability we got a striker we probably wouldn't have normally had a look in of getting, except for his circumstances and he did his part in knocking in 18 goals for us.
  8. Neal Eardley might be playing Premiership football next season as well as Euro 2012 international qualifiers. But at least we've still got Kelvin Lomax.
  9. I think the Paul Warne situation would have been a better example than Parker.
  10. I understand if the club feel that Eaves wants to leave they are not putting him in the shop window by playing him in the last two games of the season, but on the flip side if he was to score a couple before the end of the season perhaps his valuation would go up just a little bit more. Either way, I'm not too fussed about Eaves, we've got bigger fish to fry. As BigFin said in another thread, how are we going to convince the quality of players we need to improve our squad drastically, to join us at the end of the season, and how will we afford them over potential competition.
  11. Fecking Millwall. Tranmere would have been down today. You think a team battling for automatic promotion would be able to go and piss all over a crap relegation fodder team with John Barnes signed players, managed by a physio. Millwall could have knocked Leeds out of the automatic promotion spot, too.
  12. I can get businesses on the sponsored links on the first page of Google...but for a monthly flat-rate fee. And since you're not making money from your blog, as it's not really an advertisement, you're unlikely to want to pay. The only thing I can suggest is type some meta tags into your source code relevant what your blog is about.
  13. Are you using the blog as an advertisement for your business in order to generate revenue?
  14. Got to give a shout out to http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?...OMPTYPELISTPAGE They're pretty swell.
  15. A Storm in Heaven is a class album. Addictive as hell, great to get high to. Although my favourite Verve song has to be from their B-Side Album "No Come Down": "One Way To Go" I had the most amazing dream to that song. Mesmerising.
  16. Jason Demetriou is out of contract at the end of the season iirc. Quality winger with a fair bit of potential....not sure he'll leave the division, I'd love him here however with him only being 22 I think we'd have to pay some compo. That said, would be a quality acquisition.
  17. Over a year ago now. http://www.owtb.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=20819
  18. For me, the more power ups, maps and gimmicks the better. That's what Mario Kart is about. If I want a realistic racing sim which takes time to master, which is focused entirely around your driving ability I'd play Gran Turismo.
  19. I'd have only kept Whitaker if we had been relegated. We need to look for better.
  20. I think he's caught the eye of quite a few clubs bigger than us. It'd be a superb capture but I think bigger clubs with more money will be after him.
