If Crossley gets the job I'll be pretty underwhelmed....with that said I have been underwhelmed since I came to the conclusion we weren't going to appoint any one with good experience, but a unknown quantity (Bunn, Butt, Gray, Crossley). So I'm basically bemused that our shortlist might have ended up with 4 inexperienced names, but I'm not annoyed that Crossley might have the job out of those four names. He seems like a pretty cultured chap, he's been around for years and knows the game so I think I'd rather have him than Bunn or Gray.
That said I really thought this time round we ought to have looked at someone like Gannon and dived straight in for him rather than run a risk with an inexperienced candidate. If not Gannon then even someone like Paul Simpson wouldn't have been a terrible appointment. I guess our budget has played some part in who we are offering the job to.
Which I have read is very much the case.
