  1. Listen up all you trendy lefties and blind labour voting sheep - you all have very short memories or are all on labour introduced benefits - it has just taken the coalition (Conservatives) five long years to get us out of the unholy mess that labour got us into in the first place. If you think voting labour is a good idea cast your mind back five years and then think again.
  2. No he signed a two year contract in the summer for Roverscum so if Evans doesn't think he fits he can move on.
  3. Knowing Whelan he is probably clearing the decks of the big wage earners ready for the anticipated relegation at the end of the season. Complete stab in the dark - but how about Derbyshire as the out of favour Championship striker?
  4. They have more in that shop than the Oldham Town Centre one
  5. Mr Ugwu obviously ticks all the right boxes:- Played for Yeovil - Yes Played in Scotland - Yes There seems to be a recurring trend in the players that Lee brings in - can we find a good one please this time.
  6. I shall be basking in the relative glory of us not losing a game for nearly two weeks.
  7. Etheridge has gone to Charlton - strange roller coaster ride this one!!
  8. I think there will be quite a few people 'drift back' once the new stand is up and running. The Lookers stand has been badly missed so the provision of decent facilities in the new stand will at least coax some of the 'lapsed' fans back - me and my son being two of them. We stopped going after the Lookers went and to be honest, whilst it sometimes hurts not to be there, we both haven't missed it that much due to the lack of facilities, matchday experience and home form generally. As Mr Corney will understand as a successful business man you need to provide the 'punters' will a product you can sell to them - and recently OAFC hasn't been that attractive as a package. Anyway hopefully onward and upward now with the future a lot brighter.
  9. No he doesn't - he makes his own bed so he will have to sleep in it. He should take heed from an old teacher of mine 'every time you open your mouth you declare your ignorance'
  10. Lags, I cannot believe you are defending Barry as much as it appears. Speaking from the outside, from what I have seen/understand there is no witch hunt - Barry has made certain comments in open public view which, on the face of it, a lot of fans find offensive/objectionable. As is the normal way on here someone has opened a Poll, rightly or wrongly, and if you wish you are able to add a vote for or against him. Like everything else on here, it carries no weight and in a couple of days time it will have been forgotten about. In general terms whether or not you would like to see 'his head on a spike at the top of Sheepfoot Lane - Ned Stark style' is of no consequence, (even though the event may attract a sizeable gathering). As several posters have confirmed if people are so unhappy with Barry there is a mechanism for voting him out - organise the necessary AGM or whatever have a democratic vote and see how it goes - simples. Barry has a record of making comments and thinking afterwards - there is even an argument that maybe he should have is freedom of speech removed (only joking people) If it is believed that he has now finally overstepped the mark then commence proceedings to remove him from the position. The main problem as far as I can see is that a lot of fans think that Barry is the 'Trust' so perhaps the time is right to make that move.
  11. Pardon my bluntness but, as we have now sold our soul to the devil - we don't seem to have a 'club shop' anymore - certainly not for the foreseeable future. So what is the official club view - do we not need the royalties from £ 50+ shirt sales anymore (shirt plus number plus name £54). If we are looking to keep our better players and boost the coffers we need every little bit of money we can get - or are we just giving up on the replica kit deal.
  12. Anybody else had a problem with getting the new shirts printed. My son has just been into the Sports Direct Shop on Kingsway Rochdale and, whilst they had plenty of shirts, once he asked for it to be printed with a name and number he got a 'numb' look. A subsequent conversation with the store manager revealed that they only printed 'Premier' league shirts and he doubted the Oldham shop would be any different. Is this the standard we are now going to have to put up with from our partner store? Has anyone else struggled to get our shirt printed? HELP!!
  13. Why have we got to Page 7 discussing a player who has no association with our club and who the club have never expressed any interest? Move on people there are more important things in life.
  14. Anybody else think they have priced them a bit high for a pre-season friendly? Admission prices have been released for Latics' fourth pre-season fixture away to League Two side Morecambe. The game, set to take place on Tuesday, July 22, will give manager Lee Johnson a chance to further assess his side ahead of the 2014/15 campaign. Admission prices are as follows: Peter McGuigan Stand Adults: £12 Concessions: £9 Juniors: £5 Bay Radio Stand (Standing) Adults: £10 Concessions: £7 Juniors: £3 Read more at http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/article/20140627-morecambe-admission-prices-1695620.aspx#yEXt8UqRW0AMRQ8O.99 Just think it may put some people off
  15. .......and so it goes on. There are no winners in this - just let it go. No-one is perfect.
  16. Lags - you should just let this go. You do enough in raising money and helping with playershare - you don't need all this personal abuse - because that is how it is now reading. For the rest of you involved in this 10 Pages of diatribe - just remember we are all in this together - we all want the same end - it is our club and we all support it to the best of our abilities. There is no point in berating people for not having the same view as you - Lags or whoever is a Latics Fan and that should be enough for anyone on the forum.
  17. First: Jim Fryatt All time: Alan Groves Current: Gary Harkins (but not really ours so probably Danny Philliskirk)
  18. Have you listened to it recently? It isn't getting any better (not calling Gordon/Roy or Mike here) The standard of service is appalling - its like stepping back in time to listening to long wave radio with frequent interruptions. The match content is the bear minimum with the briefest highlights, unlike other clubs output where you get extended highlights. At the moment I would say it isn't worth the money.
  19. Can someone please explain to me how a topic that relates to the New Stand has suddenly become a cultural debate on the issue of smoking and cost to the NHS - can we please get back on topic.
  20. So far so good then - 273 -8 I am sure we would have taken that before the match - especially as everyone is saying it is a 400+ track. Carry on the good work lads.
  21. I agree with you in some respects - it was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests last summer. However our top order batsmen can't bat a poorly as they did in the summer again and I feel we will still have too much for the convicts again - 3-1 Win for me
  22. As usual its the police taking the easy option. They cannot seem to do any "real police-work" like solving proper crimes. Its definitely a case of - lets keep the crime figures on target by arresting a few football fans getting quick convictions and showing how good the police are at getting results. Its the same for motorists with the new legislation - easy target, quick money and ticks the right boxes for making sure the crime figures look good. Then they wonder why they don't get any help off people.
