No. I like the idea of the sports clubs in the town being connected better and a ground share would be beneficial not just for one game but long term... BUT the pitch just can’t handle it. It’s a shambles now with just football on it so we’d end up in the same position as Rochdale if he shared. So it’s a no from me.

Great news... I think there is still some kind of deal in place with sports direct as it was a 6 year deal initially but it’s been renegotiated in terms of stadium naming rights!

It sounds like the only think that would lead to a postponement would be our team being unable to get there due to travel/traffic issues.

Don’t think the 10 day thing is a fixed rule. Cheltenham’s game for Saturday has been postponed and moved to next Tuesday night. Think it depends on the police force and other things in the local area. I would imagine though that greater Manchester police have more to police event and football wise than the Cheltenham force.

Would be very surprised if he is used in this role.

After seeing the recent images of us training on little Wembley them surely improvements in our training facilities/surface is absolutely vital to success in the future. Absolute potato field...

Improved training facilities and the playing surface have to be number 1. The football side of the game has to be priority. Currently we can’t train outside and had to go to Wigan last week to use their pitch for a session or 2. That’s poor for a professional club. Painting stands and other things I agree are important but not more important than the various pitches.

I agree...it could be as dangerous if not more so than the condition it was in for the Millwall game. With this in mind I remember a few seasons ago when Oldham played Curzon ashton in a friendly and one of there players suffered a serious break to his leg. I have played at Curzon and know some of the guys there and they didn’t want the game to be played so soon in pre season as they felt the pitch hadn’t ‘Bedded in’ (not sure if this is the technical term) enough and would cut up easily. Oldham pushed for the game to be played so it was played. The young lad that broke his leg in front of the main stand did it I believe because his studs got stuck in the pitch due to a divot. Yes this could have happened in a league game but the pitch was cutting up a lot during that game due to it not being ready. Curzon’s pitch is usually exceptional for lower league football and I hadn’t seen it cut up like that before.

I hear what your saying on the World Cup thing but it’s the FA cup and it should be the same for each team regardless of the division there in. That’s my romanitic FA cup preference anyway.

Didn’t see the FA helping out before the Millwall game or any league 1 games...really poor helping the big teams out as usual! Wouldn’t be surprised though if Spurs funded some kind of work on it to protect from injuries to their squad as they have a big end to the season ahead. Not sure what can be done at such short notice though, 10 days till they play them isn’t it?
