  1. He was a decent player, but he is a shocking pundit, I used to hate him on Talksport, his first question to every caller was to ask whether they were a brother or not.
  2. Me too, when I see that list of potential candidates. Could give him 4 or 5 matches to see how he does. Looking at that list, we could do a lot worse.
  3. If we are still bottom at Christmas we can just get Shez back early January to save us for a third time.
  4. He is a very confident and assured character, made some excellent saves, the thing that impressed me most about him was his kicking, really good with either foot. Although not the tallest (for a goalkeeper) he wasn't afraid to come and collect crosses, a very good debut, lets hope he can continue in the same vein.
  5. The things Wellens changed tonight were definitely the difference, dropping Gerrard to the bench and bringing in Placide were major factors in winning that game.
  6. TBH I don't think an appeal would be a worthwhile exercise, they're not going to overturn that. I think the player was definitely looking for the penalty as he ran across Wilson, very fortunate execution of the penalty too. Thought we played well, showed a ton of spirit and character when down to 10 men. Thought Placide looked much better and more assured than Ruddy or Wilson, I can see him being a real fans favourite, he's a character. Also thought Byrne had an excellent game and was my MOM, he's really tricky and a proper handful, he has a low centre of gravity and his turns simply bamboozle opponents, he's gone before they've had a chance to see which way. Good performance and a very much needed and deserved 3 points.
  7. Only if he brings his son along as part of the package, like Ronnie Moore used to.
  8. Banks and Gardner / Gerrard and Lampard, that's quite a stretch of my imagination BP.
  9. From that video he looks like a player capable of doing it all on his own, which coincidentally is just what we are looking for.
  10. If Latics ceased to exist it wouldn't totally end my interest in football, but it would end my actually going to watch live games, I couldn't see myself going watching anybody else, after over 40 years of watching Latics. I was very spoiled in the late 80's and early 90's, watching exciting attacking football, but I feel I have more than paid for that since.
