  1. mcvitieman, you should be ashamed of yourself, personal attacks on people who are doing their best to get the club through this extremely tough passage in our history benefits no one. What level have we sunk to when one day we have big Gordon on here upset by comments made about the coverage of the commentary from Coventry, then the very next day we have Barry Owen fending off insults directed at him. Our club is being kept alive by people such as these two, and the flack that they have to endure must sicken them to the core. I dont kid myself that things are far from rosie, but witch hunts against individuals who are doing far more for the club than most contributors on here is shameful.
  2. Yep, got my Liverpool Yep, get a ticket for Liverpool game then miss the game on Saturday. A true fan
  3. 1962 Southport at home. Stopped going because that game was so boring, Lister missed three real sitters, Oh and it was cold. May go again when next we play Southport.
  4. Janet, I could not care less how many Liverpool fans are at the game, I suspect that my view is pretty much the same as Simon Corneys, Which is simply fill the ground. The cup tie will soon come, and go, and then we will be back to the reality of paying the bills, and a Liverpool fans cash will do that just the same as a once a season Latics fan.
  5. I will wager that not one of Latics fans out of the hardcore 3500 who turn up week in and week out will struggle to get a ticket, and whats more they wont give a monkeys about some bloke who bleats about not getting a ticket on the one occasion in five years that he can be arsed wandering down to BP. It's simple, buy a season ticket guarantee yourself a cup tie ticket. If you dont want to do that, and you dont really give a s--- about Oldham Athletic FC, exept when a big game comes along Winge on.
  6. I've been saying for weeks that if we get firms and wes closer to our front men we will look a different team and that Derbyshire would be far more prolific when that happened, today it did and what a revelation. Well done everyody We looked like a proper team at last.
  7. Where is Simpson,He's not even been on the bench for the last 3 games.
  8. It's screeming out to me Baxter should be playing just behind Simpson, and Derbyshire. I am absolutely perplexed by what is happening,I honestly believe our players are more than good enough to be a good team in division 1,but that is not being transmitted on to the pitch. I fear that Dickov has to go and give someone else a chance. This team should be a lot better than it's results suggest.
  9. Byrne may be slow but at least he doesn't just wack it up the pitch everytime it comes near him, I think he will do a really good job for us. I'm also impressed by Grounds good solid player, Tarky is not ready for first team football, and our midfield is shocking. Today I thought Dickov set us up just to contain Stevenage, rather go out and win the game. And my heart bled for Simpson who flogged his tripe out up front with zero support, and two wide men incapable of beating there man and getting a cross in. I am becoming more and more frustrated by the way the manager plays the game.
  10. Renewed ours today, me and my good lady will be venturing down to BP again next season. 200 mile round trip, 2 OAP still passionate about the club, and anyway what else would we do on a Saturday? We still have family in Oldham so we can kill 2 birds with one stone. Got to say though we hope it's better next season as this one has been grim.
  11. Must agree about young Mr MC Ready quick, very tricky, scored a great goal a really good prospect me thinks. That game today was a very good advert for confrence football. It was a cracking game from start to finish and we greatly enjoyed it We sat next to a Barrow fan and also saw a family from Blackburn. Where abouts in North Yorkshire are you Pete?
  12. With Latics having no game today and seeing as we only live about 20 miles from Darlington we though we would do our bit for another stuggling club. What a treat great game Darlo 2 York 2. Fantastic stadium, great atmosphere, passionate crowd(6400), and lovely to be part of lots of Darlo fans striving to keep THEIR club afloat. City/utd,Liverpool, Arsenal, Nah today at Darlington is what football clubs are all about.
  13. I went to the game at Barrow today, and Darlo fans are convinced that that was their last game. It was a really upsetting experience and as you would expect Darlo fans are distraught, they had more fans in the ground than the home team and those fans sang their hearts out for the club from about an hour before kick off until well after the teams had left the pitch, lots of tears, plenty of heavy hearts, but also hope that just maybe someone will come charging over the horizon with a plan to save a once great football club. Failing that I suppose they will be compelled to start again from scratch. Of course we have been so close to the exact same scenario ourselves,in our darkest hours not to long ago a night out at Anfield such as we had last night would have been fantasy, but peoples passion for their football clubs should never be under estimated. My message to Darlo fans is keep believing, keep hoping, and most of all keep the faith. good luck Darlo.
  14. I hope that footballs REAL supporters get behind "Darlo" in their hour of need.
  15. Thats great BUT when the club goes tits up because not enough people attend our home matches, who will you take your lad to watch then?
  16. Sorry cant agree, The people who have done the right things ie bought season tickets, vouchers, or got up early in the morning have got a ticket. Those that dont possess the passion to do the right things have not.
  17. This may sound a bit harsh, BUT No season ticket, no programme vouchers, failure to get up early enough in the morning to go and stand in the rain. = no ticket for big games. How many fans who attended the second round replay against Southend, or the first round game against Burton, or any other game when we have had under 4 thousand fans in the ground do you think missed out on a Liverpool ticket?!!!!!!!!!!!! Notts County today!!!!!!!!! See ya there!!!!
  18. Could'nt give a monkeys about football other than "Latics" not even England. We dont have a tele so only watch goal highlights of "Latics" games on the computer. My boss is Yorkshire born and bred and thinks he supports Arsenal ( signed shirt on his office wall) but he has never been to a game not even when they play up in this neck of the woods ie Newcastle/ Sunderland/ Boro and he is typical of your modern day football club admirer/ hanger on / glory hunter. They are more than happy just to SAY they support xxxxxxxxxx sign of the times I know but very sad indeed.
  19. "Oh when the Blues go marching in""""""""""""""What a bunch of tits we would look singing that and playing in black/white or any other colour.Oldham Athletic play in blue and white and there is no logical reason to change that at Anfield.
  20. Humbug I live in North yorkshire 100 miles away from b/p and more than 130 miles from Anfield, and I will make the EFFORT to be there, so I dont see a problem for anyone in or around Oldham.
  21. A "racing school" day on a motor bike.Have a great day out ,and put a smile on ya chops,oh and you will have enough left for a chippy supper on your way home.
  22. Saw Alan in the main stand on Saturday just before the game.
  23. Yes brilliant sack Dickov!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Then what? Do you not understand the FACTS, small town, lower league, no money, abysmal gates, people like you who spend their entire life bloody moaning, Why is the term "SUPPORTER" such an alien concept to you?
