  1. Yes, but being named in the squad, and being named in the team are two different things.
  2. Pete, It may be dry in your bit of North Yorkshire, but it's chucking it down in our bit. We will phone the club before leaving at about 4. You going?
  3. Maybe those that stayed until the end, and those that "walked" early will be telling their friends and grand children about this memorable match for many years to come. For two totally different reasons.
  4. Of those that left at half time or when Saturdays game went to 2-4, will be going tomorrow night ?.
  5. Oldham v Peterborough is not quite low on the scale, if like me you couldn't give a monkeys about City or United. ps I was still at the game 10 minutes after it finished, still stunned at what I had seen.
  6. I'm 66 and started watching Latics in 1958, my first game (I think) was against Gateshead (maybe a cup replay) at home. Pete I was at the 4-4 game against Chesterfield, if memory serves it snowed like hell, and we struggled to get home after the game, road conditions over Buxton, Chapel-en-le-frith and Hayfield were shocking.
  7. It's football, It's what happens, It's a game of about 95 minutes. Games ebb and flow and you just dont know whats going to happen, it's what makes it the most frustrating but fantastic game on earth. It's not over till it's over.
  8. There Must have been SOME record broken yesterday. come on you stat freaks, get delving.
  9. WHAT, Yes I watched the first half, and agree that it wasn't good. BUT It's called football, It's how it works, things dont go to plan, and it's a very frustrating game. BUT unlike you I stayed for the second half of the match, and in 55 years of watching Latics saw something that I cant remember witnessing before, MY team, fully backed by those that were left in the ground, take a good team to the cleaners in the most devastating fashion that has been witnessed by Latics fans EVER. Dont go prattling on about what happened in the last 2 games they have gone they are history. Football !!! it's a bloody roller coaster ride full of ups and downs. So because you missed out on one of the great days in Oldham Athletics history you will have to wait until the next roller coaster turns up (Tuesday night) get on board for a white knuckle ride, fasten your seat belt, and try to stay on board until the ride ends.
  10. That performance from Harkins was as majestic as it gets. Absolutely fantastic, and the rest of the team responded in devastating fashion. Well done lads.
  11. I'm more than happy that he is staying, there has not been a lot wrong with what he has done so far. The building blocks continue to be put in place, so ever onward.
  12. You cant get any better than never having missed = Liddell
  13. Top pro Cliff, good luck for the future.I'm sure he will have a bright future within the game.
  14. OK, so we have all that going for us, have you got anything negative to add ?
  15. There are far more positives than negatives at the moment. Considering our fan base, and therefore income we are in a very stable position, the manager has in most peoples eyes done an exellent job, and the whole structure of the club is in a better place than when LJ arrived. I believe that by the time the new stand is built and in use we will be in a lot stronger position than we have been for many years. We are slowly moving forward, and cannot expect miracles to happen overnight, but I see a very rosie future for the club. If as a club we continue to do the right things, and have patience, and trust in SK and LJ, a very steady upward curve will be appearing on the horizon soon.
  16. Yes Wes nicked it today, but only by the thickness of his mask. D M is coming along nicely.
  17. Nice calm feeling whilst driving the 100 miles home from the game, unlike the last 2 home games, when we drove home feeling disheartened, frustrated and angry. Won ugly today, but the points are all that matter at the moment.
  18. To be fair to the lad he became exposed after they scored, which meant that our players in front of him had to push on a bit, to try and get us back in the game, which in turn left more space for Liverpools players to run into. To say that he was" destroyed" is a bit ott.
