  1. I can understand a scoreboard, at a cricket, or rugby game. BUT at a football match!!!!!? . I cant ever remember needing a scoreboard to remind me of the score at Latics.
  2. I think they are making reference to the score board on the front face of the Rochdale road end stand, not the one stood at the rear of the terracing.
  3. After a swift look on You tube, I can confirm that this is the kind of music that I have been looking for. Thanks Diego and Harry
  4. I moved away from Olham ten years ago, but can still remember strolling through the town centre and hearing a group of Street entertainers, consisting of a group of maybe 4 people, The music, as I recall , was like a haunting kind of music that you would expect to hear from an Indian encampment in say a western ( cowboys and indians) kind of film, or maybe a South American twist to it. the entertainers were situated opposite Witherspoons( if it's still there). If anyone could put a name to this group or a name /number to the tapes? cd s that they used to sell, I would be more than grateful. Thanks Geoff.
  5. I have waited all my life for a mansion with a swimming pool, a garage full of motorbikes and a top of the range Jaguar, plus a maid attending to my every need. BUT just like OAFC I have no money. Being frustrated is par for the course when your a football fan.
  6. Getting better all the time, he will do well for you. Most Latics fans were sorry to see him go. Good luck to him, and your club for the coming season.
  7. Yes, there is a feel good factor about the place once again. The off field team look to be doing a fantastic job of getting more people/ companies involved in backing the club with cash and services. Coupled with a general feeling of the new manager having the right character that seems to breed confidence among both players and fans, all in all I have more confidence in some good times just around the corner than I have for a long time. Lets hope that after a long time in the doldrums the club is about to rise again, and put some smiles on faces.
  8. Whats happened to him, has he signed for another club, or is there a chance he may just sign again for us?
  9. I thought we changed home kit every 2 years, Why 1 year with the present one?
  10. Yes Pete, Lyn said to me on the way home" just imagine our journeys today, if we had also played badly and lost".
  11. Yes, but must say that in the 7 years that we have been up and down the road watching Latics last night was the first time that we have had any problem at all. We normally leave here at 5-00 for an evening kick off, which puts us on the M62 around Leeds at about 6-15,which we have learned is after rush hour, So we usually just sail straight through with no problem. BUT Last night was a nightmare, but hopefully just a 1 off .
  12. Pete, We also had to suffer the M62 closure on the way home to North Yorkshire last night. AND On the way down we left Leyburn at 4-30 for what is normally a 2 hour drive (100 miles) When we got to the turn off the A1 for the M62 there was a massive jam, the like of which we have never seen before, so decided to go on to the M1 and come off again at the Denby Dale junction, and then on to Holmfirth. As we motored over the Isle of Sky and down towards Greenfield we were behind schedule, but quite relaxed as we still had plenty of time. Until about a 1/4 of a mile from the Clarence, we came round a bend to find the traffic stopped. Oh no problem thinks us, road works/ temporary lights !!! a couple of minutes and we will be on our way, 10 minutes later nothing has moved, and nothing is coming the other way either. Panic, there has obviously been an accident and the road is blocked?. So not knowing what was going on ahead of us we decided to turn round go back over the Isle-of-sky to the Meltham turn off, went down through Meltham, by now we are thinking that we will not make the kick off, but with Lyn driving the ( Silver Suzuki Grand Vitara, Watch out for us Pete on our/your travels) like a formula 1 driver, we sped over Stanedge and down into Oldham, Parked up, walked to the ground, up the steps into the main stand, to be greeted by the captains just shaking hands. PHEW. The joys of being a Latics fan hey!!!!! but was it worth it or what?
  13. If memory serves I can recall a cup match at Saltergate (Chesterfield) that was lucky to get to 90 minutes as it snowed like hell, I remember it being a 4-4 draw (i think) and we won the replay. We actually struggled to get home the snow was that heavy, and saw a Reliant three wheeler turn over on the road back down to Chapel-en-le Frith. This was in the Bobby johnstone era, any one else remember it, and when it was?
  14. No frost predicted at Shrewsbury for Fri or Sat and only light snow predicted on Fri and Sat morning..
  15. Your comments on his appointment make me think what what a muppet YOU are.
  16. Kyle, are you a Latics fan or not?. It's a new chapter, enjoy it my friend. So yes it more than likely IS just you.
  17. I think he may move Grounds up into midfield, he has a good left foot, gets stuck in, and is good in the air. I think he could be a real threat. And I will be astonished if Ewulomu is even on the bench, Barnard and Simpson up front for me.
  18. I've been watching for 55 years, BUT unlike you I still love everything about supporting MY team, We are not about to croak, we are just poorly, if we keep taking the tablets we will be up and about soon.
  19. The one thing that needs to change is the PLAYERS need to start winning football matches
  20. Lee johnson, no managerial experience, wet behind the ears. we are doomed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Oh hang on a minute, does anyone remember a bloke who was know as the manager who fell off the back of a lorry, due to the fact that he arrived for his interview in one. Yes that other bloke with zero management skills, JOE ROYLE.
