  1. I'd hate for us to bring him back too quickly and him potentially breakdown again or be playing at 60-70% of what he was. Not saying that's going to happen I'm no physiotherapist or doctor but you see it happen when the team's talisman gets injured and they try to rush him back too quickly and it back fires.
  2. It raises an interesting point this though I do think the transport links to BP aren't the best. We often here of teams coming to Boundary Park that we would take more away if we were in that position. Boundary Park isn't what you would class as a good away day. We are miles from a train/metrolink stop and their aren't too many decent pubs around the ground and that's before you factor in Boundary Parks famous inclement weather. Most of these problems are actually outside the clubs control, the addition of Bar station zebra has greatly improved the matchday experience for home fans, but it does show we are up against it when you look at the external factors.
  3. You could also add 14 years of failed Tory Government where they have talked about Northern powerhouses and levelling up and nothing has been delivered to what you've just said too.
  4. If we were to do a bus ourselves where would we do one from say going from Shaw through to Royton and then BP. Would 1 from the centre of Oldham work? It would be interesting where in the borough we draw our regular match day going support from.
  5. It was much more of a thing in the 90's when half the country claimed to be a man united fan but they've gone abit quieter this last 10 years so it's less of a thing.
  6. Tbf if the time came I'd like to think we could potentially advertise outside of our catchment area to say Tameside or Rochdale. I would want an independent regulator to be looking at bigger things such as making sure less dodgy bastards run football clubs
  7. Well technically yes but my original point was that they appear to be trying to kick the can far enough down the road so that it gets dropped and nothing happens.
  8. If a rich man wants to invest in a football club then they should ne able too but their has to be some controls in place. Controls which Everton have been punished for but so far Man City haven't, one rule for 1 and 1 rule for the rest. Every finance department og every organisation in the country has to abide by some sort of legislation. If I prevented the auditors doing their job once I'd be dismissed nevermind it happening 115 times.
  9. Unfortunately despite the 115 charges against I can see them getting away with the whole thing.
  10. Yet you have to remember that here we are in the National League at from a football foodchain point òf view at our lowest point in our history and Man City are in the greatest era in their history and we are getting better attendances than prior to the Abhu Dhabi takeover of Man City in 2008 when we were in league 1 challenging for promotion to the championship. The 2 Manchester clubs are always going to be there and always going to a bigger draw than us from a purely footballing point of view but it doesn't mean we can't attract another generation of fans.
  11. Something we have to remember is that City, or United for that matter rarely play at home on Saturday at 3pm. They play 19 league games the majority of which get spread across the weekend due to TV so its not like people are getting up on a Saturday and making a direct choice between City and Oldham it's pretty rare that we will both play on Saturday at 3pm. It's an area where we can potentially hold an advantage on as we kick off at 3pm Saturday which for match going football fans is the most preferable time.
  12. I wouldn't be surprised to see Reid come back into the fold now. Fondop has not really been given an extended run in the team which hasn'thelped hos gosl output. I'll reserve judgement on both Dallas and Garner, I do have some concerns with Garners age but with a younger more mobile forward next to him he could be an asset. Let's just see how this pans out its quite possible that we could go on another run of picking up wins this little break we have this weekend might do us good to hopefully get some work in on the training pitch. It was only a couple of months ago that people were completely writing off this season. It was only 2 weeks ago where people were talking up top 3. We've got another 2 and a half months of the season to go their will be a few more twists and turns to come.
  13. Kind of where I'm at. It does look like alot of our fans are hard coded to dissapointment so the last 2 games plus Norwoods injury has left many feeling "here we go again" It's not all doom and gloom I do believe we will get the play offs we can pull this round alot of teams look equally as fallabe as we are so while we will win plenty of games we will throw in a couple of stinkers but if we are in the play offs then atleast we have a chance of going up. I've factored in that we will have atleast 1 (quite possibly painful) failed promotion attempt in the play offs. The Blackpool fan who used to pop on here every now and again made the point that we aren't as a club used to challenging for promotion and I think it shows in some of our dissapointing results against sides who come to Boundary Park and dig in, I think their is something in that. More importantly if we don't go up I think we will be able to tweek it enough in Summer to get us up Next year. The experience could do us good.
  14. My understanding is You can't claim gift aid if it's a sale of a ticket even if the proceeds go to the charity as you are basically paying for a service i.e. a football match. But anything that is donated directly can be reclaimed via gift aid.
  15. I think their is a universal agreement that last night wasn't good enough and more performances like that will see any promotion hopes drift away. It was more to do with the fact that we are on tv comparatively regularly certainly more than we were at any time since we left what is now the championship. As someone who only ever does a handful of aways at best a season it does atleast give me a chance of watching more games.
  16. A smile might be good Nothing to smile about in my life.
  17. Well he has signed one that hasn't started a game yet and another that didn't make the bench so he has options. Not a good half that we've not imposed ourselves on the game as as much as we need too.
  18. Yeah I'm not sure how you would have framed that to your other half. I've bribed mine with a free pizza for me watching tonight.
  19. Not guite as strong as "scandalous" to describe the inclusion of Mcgahey or "absolute shite" to describe half the current squad who have got us into the top 7. I'm sat in my own front room having cracked open a beer on sat night watching Latics feel some of the rest of you should do too it's going to be OK don't worry.
  20. Anyone still enjoying the novelty of watching us fairly regularly on TV it one of the plus points of being National League and being a big draw in it. Nors should have done better there.
  21. Probably not but he might have to start there it wouldn't be an unreasonable move. We'll see.
  22. I'd go with Hudson Sachdev Hobson Raglan Kitch Conlon Sheron Lundstrum Dallas Norwood Walker Think it would be a good chance to change formation Dallas and Walker playing wither side of Norwood.
  23. We are coming off a bad defeat and we owe this lot one for what they did to us in November. Mellon shouldn't have to say much to them for this they should be going out with a point to prove start fast and we can get into them.
