  1. Yes that's right but I think it's the fact that he can be bothered that I'm most impressed with. Other's attitude might be it's a friendly I'll do it tomorrow or even let 'em read it in the Chron!
  2. Impressive that Stuart knocks a report out for a friendly within 10 minutes of it ending. http://www.oldhamathletic.premiumtv.co.uk/...1353869,00.html
  3. thanks for doing that tonight Mark. I've not been able to access it for quite a few games now but tonight I followed the Java download instructions (tricky for me) and it worked!!
  4. I think , but i may be wrong, that if they have both sets of fans in the one end it means a big increase in stewarding (and possibly policing ) levels and it's nothing to do with how many the oppo were bringing tonight or last week.
  5. I've been concerned about this situation since last week. If Shez isn't sure about him then why take him off at half time against Derby. I would also think the agreements about wages etc would have been tied up with Stoke before he came here. I've only seen the 45 against Derby but thought he looked great and from what other people said he looked just as good against grimsby. I hope we are not pissing about with this because i can't see us getting anyone better and part of our problems the last 2 seasons with Shez has been getting players very late on when they have no time to bed in before the season starts. I'm concerned that if we don't sort it soon then someone else will get in first and offer Stoke and the lad a deal. Then again what do i know.
  6. can anyone actually give the rest of us a summary of what went on? Thank you
  7. Rather surprised at your assessment of the views on here. I thought recently the concensus was for O'g and Davies.Hughes seems way off lasting 90 minutes but the last 20, then maybe
  8. Well done for reminding us of this(I hadn't realised it was the anniversary) and there are some really great posts on here. My proudest moment was the brighton game at home when we turned out the biggest set of nohopers and non achievers ever likely to pull on a Latics shirt. I think 6 of that days squad played fewer than 10 league games in their whole careers. Every man jack of them fought their hearts out and I knew at the end of that game even though we had been thumped that there was hope. A 3-1 home defeat and I came out with a huge smile on my face, we were alive and we sure were kicking. It's good to remember those days sometimes especially when we all get a bit giddy and start thinking the club/team is something that it's not. We will achieve what we will acieve so lets enjoy the present. Onwards and upwards!!
  9. Positives Hazel -as good as last year Philips- almost sensational. We have got to get this guy O'Grady - Have been told by Darlo and Bury fans that he is good and I wasn't disappointed. Strong in the air, quickish and passed the ball ok Davies - worked hard and showed some good touches Smalley - looks stronger and a bit quicker and more confident than last year. Will be good for the last 20. Lomax - can do a decent job at LB Allott - Allott Negatives Gregan - dropped a bollock and can be an arse sometimes Left Back - Taylor bloody awful and basically left out for the wolves . Sort it Shez Hughes - not fit Whittaker - bypassed, expected him to look more involved Phillips - said it before- if we don't agree the deal soon someone else will. he is class at this level and someone else will sign him up. Sort it Shez! Maher - red boots? perleeeasee! Meat and Potato pie in the Chaddy not as good as the Lookers version, Could be a long season.
  10. Think we may being a tad harsh here chaps. Would you know your arse from your elbow if you went to the Basketball Ground or whatever it is now? Apart from bigging the entertainment value up a little bit I thought it was a fairly even handed summary. Baaaaa
  11. I'd feel a bit more reassured if we'd got the Phillips deal sown up. At the moment we seem to be saying very loudly in the press 'this lad's dead good but we haven't made our minds up yet' I'm not sure what it's saying to the lad but I bet there's a couple of lower championship/ higher League one scouts having a nosey tonight. If you look at the BBC League One page almost every manager is quoted as saying 'I need a left winger'
  12. i always expected Wolfy to go out but if those 3 do appear then I would suggest Williams, Black,Smalley, Chalmers and maybe even Alessandra and Stephens could be joining him for part of the season. this must be a good thing as one of our problems last year was having to rely on the kids to start games and play several in succession rather than bring them on at their own pace. they all did extremely well but this way Shez is more in control of their development.
  13. I hope not, I want to check out my new seat!
  14. [Thanks Mark. Appreciate what you have done to give us an insight into Ernie's funeral. Me too mark. It's the second very moving thing I've read tonight. It does him justice. Goodnight Ernie and thanks for everything
  15. Anyone know the score/ I can't get chat room or LW to work
  16. I read his autobiography last year and whilst it was quite interesting and whilst I have an awful lot of time for Redders and what he did for us and what he achieved in football, every story about him moving on seemed to be someone else's fault and it got a bit boring after a while.
  17. Rather surprising. I was reading the Sunday Times article about our Div 2 championship win last night and I'm sure it said he was with the COE at City. I wonder if these posts are part time? I would assume so.
  18. yes he was one of the 2 who have played against us recently, The other was Collis and i thought they were both very handy but they have both left, Collis to Crewe and Flahavan to a championship team I think, Palace? They now have Mildenhall
  19. Chaddy, they are back on! Putting the trawler on to a plane or something like that! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/7510033.stm This is going to be one hell of a tale in years to come and hundreds of Blues are going to claim to be one of the twelve!
  20. All gone belly up it would seem (not literally fortunately) which is a big shame. Really feel for them but i think one or two might have been quietly relieved! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/7510033.stm And is he really called Leighton Gobbett!!
  21. I must admit I've never really spotted him when we have played them but that probably says more about me than him. It's always been the goalie (which ever one they have played) and the defenders Clarke and Barrett who have stood out for me. However he obviously stood out for you BF and that's good enough for me. We shall watch with interest.
  22. Well according to this Sarfend fans link he's either got fed up and wanted to leave because he wasn't catching during the latter half of last season or he punched a 19 year old in training and is now persona non grata. Perhaps he will have Ricketts old number? http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/F10623225?thr...560&show=50
