  1. Dissa Pointon was also very good and occasionally apt
  2. agree with all the above. the very best of luck to you all.
  3. Have recently returned from the 62 mile Manchester to Blackpool bike ride and I'm knackered lads! I don't envy you but like me going thru Salford this morning take the first few miles sharpish!!
  4. As has been said a lot of water etc.................... But...... was that the game Joe gave Keeley a go and he chucked one in early doors? I remember having a huge row with the 2 numptons sat behind me in the Chaddy b4 the game started about how crap he'd been in the ressies but they were big fans and disliked Hallworth. They soon went quiet..
  5. sorry but who do you mean, Whittaker, Lee or Williams?
  6. might have scored with his first shot ay home in his first game I think, but it might be the red wine.....
  7. Bloody hell he'll have a job on there. The words frying pan and fire spring to mind. Was he still with us?
  8. Very interesting that. I reckon 3 of ours and 5 of theirs are still playing at league level which seems to be quite a high ratio for youth team sucess. But for 2 of them to be England internationals from the same youth team is some going. I wonder if Joe Cle played in that team with them as well at any time. I assume the RAWS must have done something similar. Their keepers dad (Tom Finn) was Latics Secretary for quite a time I think or at least a high up in the office.
  9. If memory serves he was actually on a YTS or whatever they are called now contract for a period under Wadsworth. He didn't last too long and spent short periods of time at several clubs in the North West including Alty and Barrow i think. It was whilst he was at Barrow that he returned to BP for the trial period as described in the Chron. His longest period anywhere seems to have been at City after leaving us the first time around where he stayed for over a year i think.
  10. Judging by this link Chris or neal should be getting their bags packed. A rather blunt way to get the message over I think but I think the implication is pretty clear. http://www.oldhamathletic.premiumtv.co.uk/...1340400,00.html
  11. Judith has been there a long time now and would have seen it all I would guess and she's always been very helpful. Her colleague was also very helpful last year when they sold my daughter's seat for the Hudders cup game before the season ticket holder's deadline had passed! they gave me the next door seat for nowt, very kindly!
  12. Do you think he's related to some of the Kissocks who have played for us before?
  13. Clasic BBC report, no mention of his 20 odd games for us before he went to Norwich.
  14. Agree with you really, especially in light of this weeks events. Only about £250 on their just giving site so far. Come on people put a fiver in. I did the manchester to Blackpool cycle ride last year with my daughter for TOMMY'S baby charity and several good folk on here contributed. thank you one and all.
  15. I would agree with this sort of idea to set up some sort of trust fund for Ernie's child, but I really think we have to be careful. We watched Ernie when he played for our team and we appreciated and loved what he did but he wasn't our partner or our dad. I think we need to back off a bit here folks and have some breathing space. Everyone is a bit giddy here at the moment and wanting to do as much as they can immediately. Lets back off and in a month or so be guided by the people who post on here who know Ernie's family. Hope I've not insulted anyone but for all our feelings it really isn't our loss. Andy
  16. At the risk of getting dog's abuse and without wishing to offend anybody is it right to have an internet 'public vote' on something like this? Isn't it time to back off a bit and let the family be in control as much as they can be?
  17. Interesting and valid points from both of you. I wondered if the club could turn the floodlights on at night time for a couple of hours as a tribute. (Yes I know the NIMBYS wouldn't be happy)
  18. I have posted earlier on but only just read the official obituary. got to agree with other posts, absolutely spot on. Well done someone at Latics.
  19. i think that sums Ernie up perfectly. How he performed on the pitch he performed in life and in his battle against his illness. He did his bit for us when we were at our lowest ebb and for that we are very grateful. Let's not forget he had a bit of skill as well. God speed Ernie.
  20. That Robinson's doesn't seem to have done much for his looks though. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ton/7483863.stm
  21. Interesting. Have they lost 3 players in the close season, Zola, Sherriff and the young forward (Davies?). I would imagine that people knowing they got money for Zola means clubs are asking for fees as well.
  22. please remind me, is he a left sided midfielder?
  23. Thanks for keeping us up to date with the situation I'm sure it is appreciated by everyone on here. Here's remembering and hoping.
