  1. must agree this is taking the piss. I sometimes wonder if clubs have a customer service policy.
  2. Like the majority on here he goes with my best wishes but my favourite memory is his first goal for us against Scunny and my £2 on Gary mac first goal and Latics one nil at 28/1 . I thank you!! to be honest he got that first goal spot a few times at around 14/1 and made a few people a nice drink for the weekend
  3. I think that you are bang on there. i would be sad to see him go as i liked him but as has been said further down the board he was a good not very good player. I think it's a bit of an indictment on the state of the SPL when the general concensus on here is that he would be unlikely to be a regular in our League One side next year yet one of their middling to top sides is after him.
  4. Winters in particular must be gutted after being a sub for 3 out of the last 4 games or whatever it was. Sounds a bit like Lomax's here's your new contract lad but you're not playing saturday.
  5. big lump of lard who always caused us problems whenever he played against us Will go down on the list of payers who we bought on the grounds that they always played well against us and then were crap when they played here. 1. John Keeley 2 Ian Ormandroyd
  6. Barrett at Southend has been solid for a few years now and bell at Luton who went to Leicester in the fire sale
  7. well spotted mate and well done to those Swans who certainly took some Lades fans in hook line and sinker. What with this 'news' and the win at Donny they were skipping around like all their Christmases had come at once.
  8. Good evening BB80! Came on here just to add a bit more about the Lades saga to see that I've got a 'personal message' from you, well thank you very much! I am delighted to see that the story i was talking about was an April fool, I may have missed this but can you state why you know this to be correct? I have tried to establish its origins but to no avail, but if you are correct, and I have absolutely no reason to doubt you, than that is good news and I hope the FL do show some bottle come April 14th. However I do work in Lades and the populace is convinced a deal has been done and they are getting 8 points back( yes I know they also think Geoffrey Boycott was a good cricketer) so i still think there is a possiblity there may be some jiggery pokery about, especially with Ken Bateds around. I have no reason to doubt you at all , as stated above, and do hope you are right, but Richard Cramer is a Lades based sports lawyer who may know what he's talking about . Do you think the article quoted by markoasis was just made up or is Mr Cramer just trying to whistle up business?
  9. Kilkennys first start at Bradford was pretty special, mind he didn't do bad coming on as a sub the week before. Alan Groves also had a blinder but then again when didn't he? steve taylor scored 2 on debut if memory serves
  10. Mark where did you get this from?It ties in with what i was hearing yesterday.
  11. Kenny Jackett went 5 days after we beat them 1-0 at their place last year - his last game. Come on chaps can you think of any more?
  12. Guy I know who works in bradford says Leeds fans are besides themselves having been told they've got 8 points back. Is someone winding the poor little loves up? i can't see it anywhere else.
  13. talk about knee and jerk. That chairman has previous tho' sacking the manager when things are tricky to deflect the flak from him. However this brings us to one of me and my mates favourite latics discussion points. Oppo managers who have been given the sack immediately after they have suffered the ignominy of losing to the little latics. There is quite a list. McEwen at Sheffield Utd after we had thumped them 5-1 about 1987 Lawrie MCMnemy at Sunderland after we had beaten then 2-0 at their place, shortly after the above I think Alan Buckley at Grimsby after the 6-0 drubbing on celebration sunday. Gary Megson 2 seasons back after we beat Forest 3-0 There are lots more, at least one last year i think.
  14. Good point, I noticed that. Also if you look at Jarret's first goal on Saturday whilst he runs away celebrating and others follow him, Leon runs straight to Smalley who'd done all the hard work.I'd keep him and I think Leeds might let us. He won't get a game and they won't be seeing us as a threat. If we catch them then others will have been in front of them as well. To play without one recognised striker could seriously damage the confience of the youngsters.
  15. Rumour is that the chief suspect is a Norwegian Blue called Olaf Lorip.
  16. There is a view that that last minute sending off when we were winning 1-0 cost us promotion.
  17. Am very impressed at your ability (all of you ) to spot a good'un after 12 minutes and 2 touches. Could you tell me your lottery numbers please?
  18. Would this be the chap who was in charge at York when they changed the ground name to Kit Kat Crescent for a whole lot of dosh?
  19. I don't think players went to gretna because they would be on next to nothing. The whole central pillar of their success was that they were being bankrolled. Fine player when he was here and played for us during the crap times as well. Still think we need to strengthen other areas.
  20. I'm a bit surprised he's played that many games as I thought he was heading for the knackers yard. 2 questions. 1 has he still got it, and 2 do we need another central midfielder when we could be spending the money elsewhere, e.g goalie or striker?
  21. 7th 66 points 8 points off the play off places. Southend to blow it and Lades to sneak into 6th spot
  22. Watching the cricket in the vain hope England won't cock it up - they will. Thought I would do my points for the day as it's lunch time , I know it gets confusing. Lardarse - 6 did ok, still scares me when he has to bend down, think his back will snap. Row z - 7 Did well. good pen, brave to take it especially after the cheating dipper spent so long triyng to be injured defended well and did his fair share of attacking Lomax - 7 dead solid not one error he's getting better Hazel - 6 OK Wish he wouldnt take free kicks Stam - 6 Good . no mistake of the day today. Dean - 7 Keep saying 'this has been his best game for us' Said it today Getting better, will still have some shockers tho'. KTF with him Allot- 7 Solid, good scrapping did ok Macca -7 as per usual, totally selfless perfomance. Or the other view would be lazy and hiding Taylor - 7 Still frustrating but a skillful lad who was way out of position to score . Good man Lewie - 8 Same as deano. This lad has real class but will still do some daft things whilst trying to be Ronaldo. Good to see him score, not even he could miss that! Could be a real good un Leary - 7 Thiught he was a good signing even tho' he was shocking on tuesday. Held it up well and showed some good skill Well done boys!!!
