  1. Similar to the team performance only minus the entertainment. The pandemic appears to have fucked up society's ability to deal with jangling and folding currency.
  2. Scunthorpe back on the way down as Torquay make it six to jump-start their promotion push. County held by Bromley, Hollywood Wrexham take advantage as do Chesterfield. Hotting up at the top. Meanwhile Latics twiddle their thumbs.
  3. Just ignore me, I'm in one of those fickle moods [whisky induced]. I agree on the whole, especially if Unsworth continues to strengthen the squad.
  4. 16 games in, we are a third of the way through. Points required...like now! Our next league game will see us two in hand over many but possibly bottom four. Player mentality cannot be weak any more.
  5. Bromley have equalised against County, so the tension is certainly building! I have to admire your optimism, though.
  6. The devastation to morale and the fan base would be irreparable, I think. We can't let it happen again. Meanwhile, Torquay go 5-0 up.
  7. Torquay 3-0 up against Aldershit. Wrexham, County winning, predictably. Latics now sitting three points off the bottom. Scary stuff.
  8. Exactly. They need telling straight and really, they should already know it. Do the culprits think the fans are booing because they are being unfair to the players..expecting too much? I know clubs have win bonuses in place [not sure if ours has] so imagine if there could be such a thing as a loss-deficit payment.
  9. Tell me I'm wrong but the gist I get from that post is it's the fans. Can't be the managers or the board, as they have all changed..some more than others.
  10. But we know DU doesn't have any non-league experience and whose to say an experienced non-league manger will get anything out of this current crock of shite we have as our team right now? He's putting pieces in where they don't fit because he hasn't got any pieces that do fit to make a whole. Come on BP, do you want him out and if so, who do you want in?
  11. They may be "poor" but they are better than Latics, evidently. Let's face it, this time next season, with a settled squad of competent players, Latics could be dancing around the poor fuckers who have just been relegated from the league in the same way other teams are currently doing with us.
  12. Oh FFS, it really is getting toxic from some on here. Let's sack the manager and go through the same shit again..and again..and again. That display today was fucking embarrassing from the majority of the team, despite set-up and tactics, the movement off the ball, the passing, the awareness was just plain fucking amateur. Halifax are shit, yet they looked like goddamn Brazil compared to Latics. Their fans must have been pissing their sides at our so-called team. Abraham was the stand-out for me, he was energetic, pacey and aware off the ball and unlucky not to score. Hopefully Unsworth's "major surgery" involves more like him. If Rothwell was sat in the stands and wasn't driven to get the cheque book out, then we really are in the shit. I don't know how the finances currently stand but at least half the squad needs to fuck off. Fondop, Tollit [with a caveat that he works harder], Hope, Hogan, Abraham...possibly Sheron..Okagbue, Carragher, Angol, not sure about Norman, he looks a bit dodgy at times...the rest can go. So yes, we need about ten players in.
  13. He has to want to come to Oldham first, BP. It's obviously a sticking point.
  14. Notts County have also been in this league for three years, not three months.
  15. Jealousy? Seriously, Vaughan mustn't be capable of playing in the current system to any effective use. It doesn't matter what we say or think as fans because we don't get to see him in training every day. Maybe a player for the future of the club, if the playing staff and tactics go through the change we all want. He'll probably be gone by then.
  16. I think that has been answered already, by Unsworth in his interview and by what we all know about the players.
  17. I just watched the interview and he looks as dejected as all of us feel and, like the rest of us, he knew this was coming. To me, and it's all subjective, Unsworth wants rid of the squad..maybe all of them, I don't know but I get the impression he has had it with these players and using the word "inherited" tells me he has no connection with them. I feel we have an enviable set-up in place for this division and it is not working because the players are either too inept, don't give a shit or both. I don't think the booing of the fans will affect all of them, maybe some of them but not the thick-skinned ones who are just taking the wages. They will not give a flying fuck and they need to be gone. Like he said, they are soft, looking for a comfort zone and should go. How the fuck does a manager work with a squad of players with that attitude? I don't like the defensive tactics, I now also believe lining them up different won't make an ounce of improvement. He should try it but I think it will still bring about the same result because the players are not good enough. It's a fucking mess, we know it, Unsworth knows it and no doubt everyone concerned knows it. It's alright calling for Rothwell to splash-the-cash but any targets have to want to come to Oldham Athletic, they can't be forced to come. Once again, it's become about avoiding relegation. These players didn't perform for Sheridan, they're not performing for Unsworth, we could have Guardiola in charge and fuck all would change. Only a handful have any credit to their name, the rest can get the fuck out for me.
  18. This forum is known about, so it wouldn't surprise me but our opinions aren't going to change anything.
  19. The way things are going, this is going to be a total whitewash.
  20. He's obviously suffering from idée fixe, the downfall of many managers.
  21. There have been times when Notts Co,, Chesterfield and Wrexham all struggled in this league. The Blackpool fan did warn us this could happen and now it is. There is no way the club is going to ditch this expensive set-up, it is set to succeed but it won't succeed with the players Unsworth has inherited...not all, but most of them. Like the rest of you, I despise the defensive set-up and tactics. It's shit, the fans will vote with their feet but I doubt it will prompt any change within the structure of the playing side of things. There is obviously a plan in place which doesn't include a vast majority of the current squad. As has been said, Unsworth cannot speak his mind. He must be as pissed off with this shower of shite as we are and he can't do a thing about it just yet. Something appears to be amiss with his behaviour tonight. Will we find out? Probably not.
  22. I get where you are coming from but he has brought in Rooney, an attacking midfielder and a hot prospect in Carty yet persists with defensive formation.
  23. Is anybody optimistic about this one, expecting a win..a draw at best? I've had the optimism beaten out of me, I'm afraid and will not relax until the team climbs the league away from danger. On the one hand, I want the fixtures to come as soon as possible, on the other I dread the outcomes.
  24. Probably still sell loads of tickets. I can't go but would rather be there than watch it on TV.
