I'm all for trying to encourage new fans to start following OAFC........But which F..K Whit thought its a good idea to put whistles in the goodie bags the dish out to all the youngsters they invite.

Remember going to Swasea once for a night match and there was 22 Latics fans. Also went to Norwich for a Friday night friendly ( tax rebate made my mind up to do it ) Only saw one other Latics fan there.

Totally agree with the above post. Came away from the MK Dons match thinking why do I bother ? Then they go and restore my faith with a second half performance like yesterdays. Its like being on a rollercoaster ride following Oldham.

I was there yesterday.First half we weren't that bad.We strung a few passes together a few times and looked okay.The first goal came from a mistake by M'voto who didn't clear the ball when he should have done then seconds later he gave away the penalty. Second half we just lost the plot,nobody seemed to know what position they were supposed to be playing. When Dickov blasts the players he could do with blasting himself......Diamond at right back ?

Can remember going to Sunderland,Preston and Cardiff,also was on the Southampton and Sheff Weds ones.

I don't buy into the arguement season ticket holders should have first go at tickets for big matches. Just because people can afford to pay up front before the season starts doesn't make them a more loyal fan.

Thought it was Scapuzzi's best game for us.Involved all the match.

Glad there was no subs,it usually cost us.

If we get through tickets for Liverpool should be easy enough to get,but like every time we have had a big game the people whose face fits will get sorted first. I remember things like queuing all night when the Chaddy went all seater only to be told a lot of the seats were already spoken for. Also remember the first season in the premier league struggling for some tickets for away matches after following the latics for a long time before the pinch me season. Even at the league cup final we ended up in crap seats because all the best seats had gone to a lot of new fans. Like I said tickets for the Liverpool match should be easily enough to get if we get past Southend,but dont think being loyal earns you the right for a ticket.

Proud of the latics this match.Everbody thought we would get a right stuffing. Cheating team and horrible fans.

Not sure now Terry,just remember saying all the way up to Seven Sisters that we were never going to another away match because we were crap. That vow lasted a fortnight

If its the same chap i'm thinking of he played the landlord of the Queen Vic.His characters name was Eddie Royale I think ? Sat near him at Spurs once...Think it was the 5-1 match.

Brings back memories,great game and fantastic support the latics that day.

Totally agree with you there Dave........Watched the first half of United and City there.Moved on to the Vulcan for the second half.

Another oldie here......Can't remember my first home match. First away match was Tranmere in 1968. Off to Huddesrfield today,always enjoy away matches more.
